Wordpress Database

What exactly does wordpress store in a database? eg. if you didn't back up a database (only exported files via admin panel) what would you lose when trying to restore the site?

 

You would lose all content. (every post and page)

 

xml files are sufficient to restore posts , pages

but plugins , options will go

?

Mine is not producing any xml files, so everything will be lost...

 

Get wp-backup - free plugin.
You can backup on demand and save the file to your PC, the server or have it emailed somewhere -and- you can schedule a backup.

I schedule a daily backup to be sent by email to a gmail account - that way, say, if I were on holiday and lost the lot I could still rebuild it from wherever I was.

Note: if you then add further plugins to your site functionality, make sure you remember to pop into wp-backup and add the new tables to the backup schedule.

What is name of plugin and where to get that plugin. Any link to that plugin will appreciated.
