The founders of piratebay has just been sentenced to one year in prison and 30 million SEK (~5 million USD) in fines Right or wrong, what do you think?
It is true http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay-trial-the-verdict-090417/ But this is not the end of the world. There are higher courts.
http://www.dn.se/kultur-noje/musik/the-pirate-bay-domda-till-ett-ars-fangelse-1.846239 Helps if you know swedish Or http://news.google.com/news?pz=1&ned=us&hl=en&q=pirate+bay And pick one.
They have not indicated yet if they will appeal. Not for us to say right or wrong. They went through the due diligence of the laws.
They have. It was apparent from the outset whoever lost would appeal. Right or wrong? The apologists can dress it up any which way they like. They are facilitating the theft of someone elses work, I'd certainly hate to be a musician or game developer. Theft is theft.
This is incredible and to see it popping up on so many sites means people really care about it. Just like a lot of people I am hoping they can appeal as I don't believe they deserve a year in jail.
Hope they come out alright, i guess the court is trying to make an example out of them so that others would not try start one of these sites.
I don't think it's right, because Google finders should be in jail by now too. Google can find everything ~ And yeah only links... OMG!
I do not condone piracy. If you are asking me, is piracy right or wrong, my answer is absolute - Wrong. But if you are asking about the case, is Pirate Bay conviction right or wrong, I leave it to the learned judges. In such a case as complicated as this, where tons of documents were used as evidence and so many fundamental points of law considered, I won't be so presumptuous as to judge the judgment.
Well, if it's so illegal - why their site is still up and running ? They have no illegal material on their servers. Anyway, I can tell ya only 1 thing - they will be back and more powerful than ever. These guys don't care about s*** similar to what happens right now - it's like an experience
there are millions of torrent sites on the web and i dont see whats the use of shutting down one of them, maybe they are trying to prove a point and scare away others. Anyway, fail.
I think its a load of bs, its not even there files. Bloody swedish, there are so many torrent sites on the web, why prosecute these two guys. Unlucky for them I guess.
