The Top Ten Work From Home Strategies

Now, there are 100's, if not 1,000's of different strategies for making money online. Some of them good, bad and ugly. I've been making money online for a real long time now. These are, in my opinion, the top ten ways to make money online. The factors are income potential, how quickly a person can get started and also based on setting it up to run hands off.

Information Product Creation – This is a big earner for me. It is just so versatile. You can create and sell information products in about every niche market that you can think of. People are always craving knowledge and there is a lot of possibilities for you.

You can use information products to obviously make upfront money, straight into your paypal account, but there is so much more that you can do with it. You can use them to build mailing lists and be an affiliate and take advantage of the sales process.

List Building – You've probably heard that the money is in the list, a million times. At least I have heard that a million times. I've heard that a million times because it is true. There are many reasons why this is so effective.

The first is that you can continue to promote your own products to them, over and over again. The second is that you can be an affiliate, over and over again. The third is that you can build up a relationship with your list and build up trust and this is much more effective because you can presell them.

Affiliate Marketing – There are a lot of people making a lot of money as an affiliate. The great thing is that you don't need a product or even a website. You don't have to worry about creating the product or writing the sales page. You can also market as an affiliate in about any niche you can think of. You can be an eBay affiliate or promote CPA offers.

Blogging – We've all heard about blogging and it is also a great way to make money online. Again, it is so visatile. You can promote your own products, build a mailing list, be an affiliate, promote CPA offers, use Google Adsense, write reviews etc. You can also do this in about any niche market that you can think of.

eBay – No, eBay is not dead. There are still people making a killing on eBay. You can obviously sell your own stuff on eBay or sell for other companies. You can also be an eBay affiliate, you can also use eBay to build a mailing list.

Joint Ventures – Working on projects with joint venture partners can be very effective. You can both utilize each other's strengths. The possibilities are really endless with this. This can be applied to about any niche market and countless different projects.

    Membership Websites –
This is a great way to set up recurring income. You charge people to have access to your membership site or sites. You can set it up to receive monthly payments. This is a really good way to make money online.

Outsourcing Empires – This is simply finding demand for content or work and paying people to provide that and turning around and selling it to other people. It is all about supply and demand. You can rely on internet forums and outsourcing web sites for the supply and the demand.

Traffic Exchanges – You can make money with traffic exchanges, if done right. You obviously need a good quick splash page and something to provide of value. You can build mailing lists, sell products, be an affiliate, promote traffic exchanges for commissions etc. You can also start your own traffic exchange and make a lot of money, that way.

Web 2.0 – This is social bookmarking sites, Craigslist, You Tube, Myspace etc. There are lots of different ways to market on these sites and there are 100's if not 1,000's of these sites. There are also a ton of different ways to market your own products, build mailing lists, be an affiliate etc.

Well, there it is. That is my top ten, this is after I've spent countless hours making money online and trying about every strategy that you can think of for making money online. I should also say that I've written dozens of reports about making money online, hundreds of articles about making money online, I have my own membership site about making money online and I coach and mentor people and personally help them make money online. If you need anything just send me a PM.

    Warmest Regards,
    Nathan Johnson

I'll agree with just about everything here except for traffic exchanges. I think traffic exchanges are the biggest waste of time out there - hours of attention with no real results. Spending your time on content and SEO is much more important.

I think this is a nice list to get people thinking about what they should look into as options. I have been working on writing articles to make money to make sure I am paying my bills, which was an unintended result of trying to get better content for my blogs. Lately I have been looking into what it takes to write information products, with a goal of creating targeted mailing lists beyond what I get from blogs.

If you have a grasp of the English language (or another language for that matter), a little time to do some research on how to properly target keywords, and a few affiliate programs (ideally CPA), blogs and content writing can be a great and easy way to get started. It definitely wasn't an instant goldmine but I like the promise that it has shown with what I have been doing so far.

These two items you mentioned work for me best but more weight on outsourcing. I have a steady stream of income from this method. It pays the bills and allows me to go on short vacations once in while. Plus, projects never seem to run out which is a very positive indication that the business is thriving.

As for blogging, I get trickles of income from the ads. Not much but it's still passive income.

I knew I would take some flak for posting traffic exchanges, but the vast majority of people market the wrong ways. Build a list and relationships. Market other traffic exchanges with good upgrade bonuses and build down-lines.

I really agree, take advantage of the sales process. eBay is all about the sales process, use that to benefit your online business.

I think that it is very good. I've been through about every online strategy that you can try. This is my list. Real life experience. You don't get that very often in the make money online scene, in my opinion.

Outsourcing can be a very profitable thing. You just have to do it right. Scale up your operation in the right manner. You also need to be working with people that you trust.

Yes Nathan, that's a great list and good advice... sorry about your old lady, but at least you'll have more time to make money!

As a long-term success, can you tell me if the current financial downturn is greatly affecting online businesses? Is it tuffer to succeed now with everybody being so reluctant to spend any money? Was it easier for you a year or two ago?

...and, with the huge multitudes of newly jobless folks turning to the net for survival, is it going to be clogged with too much competition and too many struggling newbies?

Your "voice of experience" would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have heard of all of them except the outsourcing empires thing. I never thought of this but after all the others why dabble were you are not an expert?

and traffic exchanges do work it just works better for certain types of sites
