How Many Twitter Followers Should I Have?

Hello, I've been learning about this very interesting platform called Twitter and it looks great as a tool to take your message out to the crowds (commercial purposes or not). But I was just wondering how many followers should be the least amount I should aim to have so I can start to see results promoting some products using Twitter?

 

The number of followers you have isn't nearly as important as how targeted the followers are. If you have xxx,xxx number of followers but they don't care what you are talking about then it won't do you any good.

A lot of people use TweetLater and just follow everyone who follows them.

Your goal should be to get targeted followers. Do that by using Twellow.

Just type in your keywords and see who pops up. Look for people who have a bio that is directly related to your niche and then start following there followers.

That should get you started.

 

Quality, not quantity!

 

like others have siad, quality is important but with that said it takes at least a thousand to make an impact

 

I started to see traffic to my sites the very same day I started on twitter...

I have multiple accounts open and add friends using some programs that are out there...

You should build a social network with your followers

If you have targeted followers and an interesting blog then there are some plug ins that you can use that will blast all your blog posts out to everyone.

This is a great way to get some traffic to your blog on a daily basis.

 

What is this "Twitter" that you speak of? I have not heard of this platform before.

 

A micro blogging platform/website, a bit like Facebook (sort of) but for keeping up to date with your niche/colleagues/clients etc..

 

People will start following you based on the content in your short posts. I post about shih-tzus and Hawaii and my followers go up every day naturally - other twits searching the network for those keywords and following. Don't just start following people with the hope that they'll follow you back. Just post good stuff and watch your folowers come to you!

I was kidding (note the rolling eyes smiley) - everyone knows what Twitter is (except, apparently, the thread starter, who just learned about it).

 

I've been working and applying some strategies to my Twitter account these days and number of followers is growing..now I'm above 1500...

I agree. You can have 2000 followers, but if nobody pays any attention to you tweets, they are useless.

try to find people that are active and know whats going on. It could be a in any feild because cross promotion will work as well so just try to make a few friends that are active just keep searching around and then start posting good quality stuff.
