i have a site with normal 380 to 400 v / day according to googl analytic, and 900 v / day in awstat (i knw it is wrong) and in my website index page there is small script wch show how many users online in site .. so it will show max number of 20 or 25

but recently i made some changes in website added more pages and all.. after that Awstat showing i have 28000 to 33000 v / day and perday am using 25 Gb bandwidth.. and in my front site script show 300 to 600 users online always even at morning 3 or 4 am i can see 300 users online ..

but in google analytic showing normally like old days .. only a small increase ..

i heard that awstat is wrong .. but y the script in index page .. it showed correctly b4 ..

Out of personal experience I don't trust awstats at all. It doesn't show dynamic content so I just use Google Analytics. Only problem with Google Analytics that I have encountered is that they don't update real time. It takes a couple of hours before you see all the results. I usually check the previous days traffic with Google Analytics.

What script are you using? Maybe it sends data to a third host explaining your increase of bandwidth.

no i dont knw the name of script but it like joomla ... it will show how many visitors online on site .. and b4 it showed correctly if awstat alone is wrong then it ok .. but both are wrong ..

If you think both are wrong (for certain awstats is), maybe try another stats tool and check the difference.

Use sitemeter .. i personally using it in my all sites... its best of all.
Google analytic and Awastst counts you too in stats, and they also count few bots like spam bots.
Sitemeter is much clever and better..

I would say the stats you get from Google Analytics will most likely be more accurate because the other tools can accidently count bots as visitors and revisiting visitors as unique visitors.

I believe Google Analytics just has less errors compared to other analytic tools.

It sounds like awstats is wrong. I don't know why (other than the fact that it has some major bugs), but I would certainly advise not using it if you want an accurate measurement of your traffic.

Do you have any dynamic sites? If you have, compare the dynamic pages with Analytics and Awstats. You will see that Awstats doesn't pick up dynamic content eg: content.php?page=blah_blah&catid=30. It only picks up content.php.

    Trust Google Analytics.
I think the mods you installed are creating some problem with awstats and the other plugin you use to show users online :)
