Need Clean, Fast Unix Web Hosting

I need a clean, Fast Unix web hosting with the following for my client's website.

US Data Center
10-15 Domains
SSh Access
MySQL - Unlimited
CPanel
Monthly plan
Paypal Payment

Please advice on some good options.

Stay away from a lot of the offers on DP, or at least the ones that aren't operating as an actual business. You may want to take a look at webhostingtalk.com for recommendations and have a good budget in mind. $10/year hosting won't get you fast or quality.

 

lunarpages.com is quite good for linux

 

I did not like lunarpages.com.

Any other suggestions ?

I am not looking for a $10/year kind of sites.

I just had 2 chats with Verio Sales support, and they were ill informed.
Basic feature like SSh & Dedicated IP is mentioned on their website for the Business-Basic plan, but the support guys say that its not available.
Their web server is showing cached pages.
Rediculous!!

Rackspace only does dedicated.

Theplanet.com is a bit too expensive. They are good for dedicated servers.

I am looking for good hosting companies with a budget of $100-$200 per year.

I am awaiting helpful reviews and suggestions.

how much space and bandwidth were you looking to get?

if you are looking into shared hosting, most will only allow jailed ssh with some ID verifications. you shouldn't have any issues with any of your other requirements though

WRONG! not all $10/year hosting is not reliable. Some of the offer at WHT has $10/year. I am a premium members there but different name.

 

I have a couple hobby sites, that actually don't host myself, at hosting-marketers.com
They're really good and in business since 1999.

 

I didn't know $10.00/ year could cover the costs of a server.

 

It *COULD* but that's a very stupid business plan.


For $100~$200 a year, you can probably get a cheap VPS... the only problem is cPanel as those are $10 for internal licenses, and $15 for external licenses...

We allow SSH Access by using OpenSSH Protocol, but we allow only on our reseller pakages that are listed here

 

We only allow SSH access with proper ID (drivers license) for security reasons. Other than that, we are perfect for you.

 

I am still not getting the kind of hosting companies I need.
24/7 support is missing in most cases.

In many cases, the hosting company's website it dead slow, I fear the state of my client's site.

I am looking for something really good and business class.

Any suggestions ??

i have been wating 24h for a reinstall of the centos when they told me its going to take 12h
and i dont understand why its going to take 24h

and they wont refund my money
i sent them 3 emails asking them for the time to when i will get the server back they said
wee will contact you as soon as it will be installed and i waited other 12h i contact them they wont answear me and after that they sent me an email saying stop asking for time

and they wont refund me

so dont go close to them

 

I think HostGator and BlueHost has all that... also check with MidPhase and HostMonster

They are all great

 

I am not sure about that though, but I think it's some kind of way to introduce their hosting company.

 

Yeah a lot of newer hosts will do it to get a client base setup.

 

A lot do that, but very few turn out successful.
