I am hearing a lot about videos and website promotion. I know few basic things. Thins like integrating videos in websites make Search engines interested in our websites. Well Youtube has opened a new world of opportunities for us. The great thing about it is its viral

I would like people with knowledge on youtube marketing to come out and help like minded webmasters like me. Help us about how we can promote our websites via Youtube. How to create and How to Link .

I would request people who visit this thread only post if you are serious. Do not post just to create Back links. Contribute with your ideas.

I believe you can use videos in a few different ways. We have been adding videos of our products on the site with YouTube. This can do a couple of things, one of the things it does is add another result in the SERPS for keywords even though they take people to the YouTube video, we make sure a link is there to steer them to our site. The other thing is adding value to our pages and helping people see the items more thoroughly so they know what they are buying.

Viral will be our next attempt. We want to create a video that will be passed on and linked to. This video I don't want people linking to a YouTube page, but a page on our own site. This will help for incoming links.

Think outside the box when it comes to videos, there are many aspects of video usage to think about.

I started posting videos on youtube in April of 2007. In the past 2 years I have uploaded over 320 of my own home videos. Some of the videos were of really poor quality, so I took a few down. This left me with 319 videos at this time.

The videos are filmed with my wifes Canon SD750 point and shoot digital camera.

The editing is done with Microsoft Movie maker - which is included with windows XP and vista.

The name of my website is at the start and end of the video.

In the video description, I always put my site name first so its visible to the person watching the video. Targeted keywords are used in the video title and description.

Youtube is in my top 5 sources of traffic, and my 1st or 2nd source of targeted traffic.

I know you dont want links, but talk is cheap. It would be really easy for someone to post something here and then not have any proof. I want to backup what I have posted.

Here is my youtube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/survivalistboards

That is used to promote my disaster preparedness forum

My first site opened in 2006 and did not have much success. The forum ws closed in March of 2007 and reopened in 2007. During the closed period I also switched forum software.

From reopening in April 2007, until April 2009, my forum has gotten over 600,000 post. Most of my members came from youtube and after watching my videos.

During times where my forum has experienced little growth - those are the times that I was not posting videos on a regular basis. In other words, the more videos I post, and on a regular basis, the more traffic I get.

Besides my forum, the videos are also embedded into my blog. So I get triple use of each video I post - youtube, forum and blog.

Also, I post my videos on about 10 different video hositng sites - break, metacafe, dailymotion, yahoo video,,, just to name a few.

In comparison to other forums in my nitch, mine experiencing faster growth, more members and more post then any other forum I have seen. I have been able to go head to head with forums that have been online for years before I ever even thought about my site. And I contribute all of my growth to several factors, but videos being the main one.

I never meant not to add your signature links.. I have seen people posting something similar to great topic, well done and great work etc to just get their signature done. Well your post here is very much informatory Mr Kev and Debunked. Great information. I expect all others to carry forward the chat. The main questions I ask are
Is their a way to add clickable link in the video itself.
Where we can Link our websites..

    Thank you.

On a youtube video - NO, you can not add a link to the video that goes to a non-youtube page. I have seen links added to youtube videos that go to a members profile. And this could be a great benefit.

If you can get approved for the youtube Partner program, you can add a header to the top of your profile page. You can also add an image next to everyone of your videos.

For my profile, I took the header off my website, resized it, and put it on my youtube profile page. So when you got to my profile, and see my header, you will also see my websites address.

For the small image that appears next to everyone of my videos, I made an animated GIF that rotates between - Visit the website --- website name ---- and then it turns a bright red color to catch the eye. After the bright red, it goes back to - visit the website - website name - bright red.

Some people put a animated GIF that says "Be sure to subscribe" and then an arrow that points to the subscribe button.

And, once you are a youtube partner, you can link your videos and your google adsense account. That means you can make money from posting videos.

Here is a link to the Youtube Partner program, just click the apply button - http://www.youtube.com/partners

BUT - it is very difficult to get accepted into the program. You have to have several videos with probably 100,000 views before you can get approved.

My youtube account was maybe 8 months old, and had around 75 - 100 videos before I applied. I was also accepted the first time around. I know people that have applied several times, and they are rejected everytime. One person I know that keeps getting rejected, he probably has more then 30 videos. Some of them have been viewed 20,000 times. Just why he is getting rejected, I do not know.

Getting accepted into the partner program is no easy task. You have to produce quality videos and get lots of views.

Another nice thing about being a youtube partner, you can upload videos about 1 hour and 45 minutes long. While regular youtube members are limited to 10 minutes.

Videos are worth more than just increased traffic and rankings... They help you SELL things! Putting yourself (or even just your voice) out there for your visitors/potential clients to see/hear adds an awesome personal touch that helps create a relationship without you actually interacting with them. Videos work. As long as your videos don't suck.....

Youtube is really good to advertise using videos, make the videos worth the while of watching and if you help they will want more from you, hence your website.

Well You are right. I think this is one of the main advantages of videos. We can add our personal touch. Every buyer want to make sure about the seller. Adding a personal touch is among the benefits of video marketing
