Video marketing is definitely a great tool for building backlinks. If you are short on time, you can comment on blogs that are in similar niche. Even if the related blog is a NoFollow, you still want to post there to build up your reputation with the author.
If you have blogs, you can submit their RSS feeds to directories. Youtube Marketing is a hot stuff nowadays too but the best social site that generated good results for my sites is SQUIDOO.com
content will always be king if you have a good quality of content then people would link back to you for sure.
I think that if you write a good article, people will do the linking for you. If something is well written, people will go out of their way to tell someone about it.
I am hearing a lot of video marketing stuffs. I would like to know more about video back links. Ok. I agree with you on Blogs. There many more writing here about other back linking options. Nothing out of the blue. Come out with new options. What about twitter and how you can use it to build links? What about creating blogs and linking to our websites. Come with new strategies..
With the forum posting it is important to stick to your niche even though it doesn't hurt to place your links in as many forums as possible.
I think directories are still the best method for attracting local biz. But the more competitive the market gets the more diverse methods you need to get to the top.
I think the easiest, free and legit way to get high quality and natural links is to write excellent, useful, information rich content and add it in your site. People finding that content useful will link to your site for free. Article submission and forum posting are good way to get some backlinks. But links from forums are not much relative.
I think people may link your site for free but I think more will find your information and just use it for themselves.
Digg,Mixx and a good quality site. I got links from sites i don't know and just because they liked what they seen.
Well directories offered us quality back links and traffic too. But google thinks directories are making Zero sites a hero. So what do we do??? Well there are many posts here stating the benefit of the contents, Content is the King my dear friends.. We must give enough weightage to our contents. Without that all the back linking is useless.
If you find a good active do-follow forum, you'll get a lot of good backlinks from that if your active on the forum, I was reading a article about how people gain traffic from forums and I think I might research it more myself and post a article about it, it looks very interesting. If you can find a good list of high PR do-follow blogs, or collect them yourself and they are related to your niche, you can build up some strong backlinks from that, but it can take a lot of time to build up a good strong amount of back links, but commenting on new blogs which you think last is a good way to get back links as well.
the best outcomes I have had with building links are as follows... - social bookmakring - using autopligg & bookmarking demon - parasite posting - such as hub pages, google sites, wordpress etc... - making my own linking blogs.. - blog comments - does not need to be do follow... any link whether they are do follow or not help with your serp results.. - forum posts - pretty self explanatory good luck
