Am I the only one against selling eBooks on how to make money?

I know a lot of people are making money off of it but to me it's weird to make money by promoting a book on how to make money.

Know what I mean? Anyone else feel the same?

Dude you are not the only one. I long thought of it as being as perverse as incest.

    I make a distinction though.

I see nothing wrong in someone who has already made success then going on to teach others how he did it.

However, I see everything wrong with people who have no success until they teach people how to have success. It just reminds me of a pyramid scheme.

i just don't understand how people make money out of it ...

i mean, anyone who is even the slightest bit wise to clickbank would buy it through their own hoplink, surely?

I have no problem with it, caveat emptor

the only problem is that a lot of the people who write those books have never made anything substantial. It's like the blind leading the blind, really only people who've made real money on the internet (and I'm not talking about a few dollars here and there) should be allowed to write such books.

I really dislike the whole make money online community, I don't follow any of those blogs because there's so much smoke and mirror and so much lying to turn a quick buck. You have people like John Chow who basically spends the majority of his blog telling people to sign up for some program that he gets a commission check off of, and the stupid thing is that people actually do it and they return to his blog to join up for the next scam he's selling.

Long Long ago, I posted about this book called Sal the Site Stealer by a guy named Harris Fellman (who's apparently pretty well known in Internet Marketing communities ) - a friend bought the book and I not knowing who he was read it and laughed at how bad it was. Well basically I did some research on this guy and they're all pretty much the same with these Make Money online books - they take outlandish concepts, promise big riches and then deliver a product that you'd be lucky if you managed to even make 1 cent off of.

In the end I think it really is up to the buyer to do their research, people who are either lazy or don't want to spend time learning are the ones who get suckered in to it - and I'm conflicted on whether it's fair game to target them.

This is how gravities get inflated for these products. But the vendor would still make money out of it even if they are having to give away the affiliate commission.

Even my first IM product (see sig) I am in two minds about launching it on Clickbank. I would prefer not to be part of the BS make money product launch fanfare, even if it meant I make more money. Seems all the big launches on Clickbank for make money niche are mostly useless products. Perhaps Affiliate Project X was the last decent product and that was a few years ago now.

Most of those books just show very basic ways to make money which might be useful is one is just starting out or else they are of no use.

Money-making book? Sounds amazing. Why those guys who promote it don't make a ton of money.

If the book really helps, then they don't need to promote it and they can easily make money by using the book. Here they use book to make money. Sounds interesting.

Another thing is the refund rate is very high, almost 100%. It is a bad niche to make money.

I agree with all of you. What about the affiliates who only make their money by promoting these money-making eBooks?

The make money online niche is not so clean, in the sence that it got lot of hype for nothing. Many people create these so called products to make money when they dont know how to make money themselves. How can someone teach you something that he still have to learn?..

A few years back this niche was really small and every product was pretty useful because such material was lacking. But now its quiet the opposite, too much information that makes it difficult to find something useful...
