I think Google assisgn PR 10 manually only.. otherwise... Y! and MS should be PR 10... no doubt.... They simply assigns PR 10 to sites which they love....
Hmm, seems that cnn is fully trusted by Google. I just saw how huge the backlinks count that they have.
Pr10 have one thing in common-you cant get backlink there not even if you pay with millions.Statcounter had pr10 and they were selling backlink for 2300 euros, and as result google reduced their pr to pr4,and when they puted no follow tag they are now on pr8.But one thing is sure, they will never sell links again and they will never have pr10 again.
that doesnt seem fair from goolge because if someone wants to sell space on his website google should interfere. So much for dont be evil.
It doesn't matter if the CNN website is SEO friendly. They are the LEADING news agency in the world...
I agree. I would love a link from there. A bit ironic really, they come to my site. I want to be on theirs.
Exactly. People who replied to this thread forgot that fresh content and authority play a major role in SEO. Also, they get tons of links by linkbait technique.
When Larry King is not on the air, he is busy blog comment spamming and forum post spamming! He may need to get the assistance of Lou Dobbs to maintain that PR 10!
hi cnn.com PR 10 is really great news adobe also had pr 10 once http://www.w3.org/ http://india.gov.in/ new york times wikipedia hp also have good PR moreover yahoo and microsoft would never be having PR 10 even if they deserve it as they are Google's own competitors thanks, ankur
Well they have a team dedicated to the website, updating it, making it secure, testing it and what not, wouldn't surprise me if they hired professional SEO services, or even have a dedicated team / advice for their design.
no wonder cnn.com has it. almost all peopl reads cnn. .. you can view Pagerank by installing the google toolbar.

Wow, CNN must have done some major PR promoting or there are just so many sites linking back to them because each PR is exponentially harder, and you got to imagine.
