LunarPages worst: LP asking to move to VPS for a wordpress blog with 1000 visitors

My support Ticket #1390383

Its just so frustrating that i am running a wordpress blog with bare three extra plugins plus a visitor count of less than 1000 and still you people keep asking me to upgrade to a VPS option.

As far as i know the amount of traffic or resources that a shared hosting can handle is much more than what my blog is having right now.

With this kind of support do you expect me to upgrade to your VPS which is so bad.

Instead of helping me out everyone from support wants me to upgrade . Perhaps you will get more money like this.

with this support i would prefer to buy a VPS option from someone else if i require.

So what you people gona do if i am unable to upgrade to VPS, bring my site down.

Because i dont think i can do anything more now and if you people cant even support a small traffic of just 1000 visitors on a wordpress blog with just three(3) plugins perhaps you should put your shared hosting package into dustbin.

May be you people are indirectly asking me to leave lunarpages and find another host so that you can eat my whole two year subscription without any refund.

 

is it a 1000 visitors a day or a month? or 1000 visitors at the same time?

if it's at the same time then I can see why they are asking you to upgrade - it can put a whole lot of stress on a shared server

and did you pay for 2 years in advance? or do you have just a regular subscription? if its just a subscription you can cancel that any time, if its prepaid then it'll be much harder

 

How much traffic are you using each month? Have you tried any caching plugin's for wordpress?

 

Well its 1000 visitors a day, maximum of 5-10 vistors at same time and that too not most of time. Yes i paid for 2 years in advance???

 

I wouldn't recommend lunarpages . get a dedicated server off OVH

 

how much bandwidth do you use per month? and how do you affect the cpu load?

I've had a client in the past that kept on installing wordpress plugins that caused him to use up like 2gb of ram at a time because he constantly ran it. I might be able to help you out with keeping costs low but I have to understand your situation first.

 

I never expect to join lunar pages for this.,and if that is true wordpress should remove lunar pages from wordpress recommended hosting company then

 

Well, i am just running 5-6 plugins i.e. askimet, platinum seo, global translator, xml sitemap generator. Thats all.Even the theme used is a simple 3 column theme which doesnt need much resources.

bandwidth usage per month isnt more than 3-5 gb.

 

that's not much - and Lunerpages is an overseller so they will tell you a lot of things - I have nothing personal against them but I'm not for the whole "unlimited" space/bw thing.

so any plan on what you want to do? get a VPS or try to find a good shared host?

Your requirements are so small, I'm surprised they're asking you to upgrade :S

the next smart answer is whats the plugins ? i have wordpress blog that making more than 2K/day in lunarpages and its ok... if you have use auto blog or something like that... wp-omatic, autoblogging.net or blogorganic, wptube its eat a lot of bandwith Mate

So i guess you just choose another service... cirtex hosting is the best that i could remember

Mate thats just global translator, platinum seo and askimet only.

 

that global translator and sitemap generator may be the ones causing the lag - you should disable them for a bit and pay attention to what happens - could help out a lot

 

i disabled sitemap generator. Global translator i need.

 

alright good, see if that makes a difference - if it does, you may not have to spend any more money

if it doesn't work, shut off global translator for a bit and see how that works. If neither helps, turn them back on and move to the other plugins and slowly experiment.

Thanx everyone for your help. I shifted to a better host than Lunarpages and my site is online without any issues.

 

lunarpages is run by buffoons. they suspended one of my site claiming it ran TGPs while I till date dont own or run a tgp. Max users daily: 200
Stay away from them

 

Do you pay the same price or more to get better service?

 

Wordpress always cause high server load.
