Hey guys, Had my site for a while now and I get between 130-180 unique visits per day, so total of like 3000 unique per month. I started adsense about a year after my site picked up - hoping to get a decent amount of money for the ads. Nothing large of course, but you know something perhaps to pay a bit of the hosting bill or something - i dont know like 25-50$ per month. Anyway, I have had it for over a year now, and i am at a total of 65$ - which in my opinion is extremely bad for such a long duration in time - especially compared to the majority of you guys. My website has on every page two banners (1 Horizontal & 1 Vertical) and each content item has a link to the small set of ads, which I have blended in with my webste background to help perhaps get more clicks. I really don't know what else I can do to really ''Ramp'' the clicks up and get some decent money comming in. I was wondering if anyone could give any general, overall advice. Thank you.

Gregfire, The action 'CTR wise' is above the fold. Put an ad block below your headline ( 336 x 280 or 250 x 250 ). Dean
First, add more content. And you shall try to get more traffic. For the ads, you might need o try another size of ads and use different placement until find the best
Adsense is all about experimenting. You can use different Ad Types, Ad Colors, Link Units etc to see which one works for you. Use channels to track the performance and remove the under performing Ads to avoid being smart priced.
Even though you have high traffic it doesn't mean you'll get high earnings on your adsense. It still depends on the price of your keywords on your content or the niche of your site.
Link units get more clicks, they take up less space, and help in making the website look neat and uncluttered.
Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry as weird as it sounds I dont really want to disclose the website at present. When you say niches, is there a way to find out what the most popular topic/keywords actually are? Also you say content, is it possible for adsense to scan within documents? i,e; Word Documents/PDF Files? to count as content. Thank you.
<<-- Sorry to tell you, but thats very irrelevant to his situation. The reason your not earning as much is because you don't have decent traffic coming to your website. Content is also important since Google search is most active on sites that have a) a decent amount of content to start of with and b) content updated daily. If your site has been up for a year then it is useless if all you get is 200-300 visitors/day. I have sites that i get up and they immediately receive 1000+ UV/day in the first 2 months. Its not impossible to make decent money with adsense, or even a living, all you need first is the knowledge . Learn more about SEO, and marketing , if you have never done so. To be honest, not everyone is cut out to make big money with on the internet, only the ones that read, learn, and as one person above stated, experiment, are the ones that will be successful. Its good that your asking questions, but what if no one is to be around, you have to be active. Use Google search to find help, it will answer 99% of the things you have in mind. Ok? I am not trying to be mean or anything, i am just being real.
