just fyi - you can easily bump a site up under 10,000 with very little effort. getting it down lower - not really that difficult - if you take your time ... and it helps to have a site that its not unreasonable that it would get good traffic.
yes alexa ranks can be manupulated. i do it from different ips. check out the signature for details. if you say it's cheating, but then we all get backlinks and do link exchange, that's cheating as well, google count a backlink as a vote and we manupulate that, anyways! this thread was all about, can alexa ranks be manupulated? right! the answer is yes! cheers!
to say "we all get BL ..." or in other words you want to say "we all cheat" ... such statement certainly is totally wrong a few may participate in linkfarming others may cheat alexa many are hard and honest working webmasters and authors finally they all cheat themselves - they pretend to have something that is nothing but a fake soap-bubble. G certainly has or can find ways to neutralize link framing sooner or later - then we may have another thread with whining webmasters - those banned for cheating PR in addition to those banned for cheating adsense ... I'd rather work ten times harder and longer and know that what i have is what i have created and earned on my own - something i can repeat times and again when ever success is needed in another job at another time in the far future
Any updates on this thread? I've just made it into the top 100k on Alexa and it's been kind of a long time coming, but not too much work. I just made sure to use the SearchStatus plugin and load my blog a couple of times every day. This tactic isn't sexy at all, but it seems to work over time. Also, someone said 50k might be the new 100k. Does anyone know or have an opinion on what the most significant milestone is now with Alexa Rank? I'm talking about as far as advertisers like TLA are concerned. I was accepted before reaching 100k, but haven't sold any ads yet...
fake hits do work if you have them on a webserver alexa booster doesnt work i think also its a win32 which uses your bandwith and processers
here is how : http://www.frogengine.com/blog/should-i-use-alexa-as-an-indicator-of-how-much-traffic-a-site-gets/
Fake traffic is like Fake traffic...Nothing to be proud of, I'd rather work hard and invest on the site to get high on Alexa rather than cheating.
it is easy to do it you have to do it right and they way to do it is in the settings ... dont send hits to your site every second do it every to or 20 to 60 use a good referers list and a good proxy list with mix locations
as i was saying! what is your hard work method? buying links, link exchange, links in articles, links in forums, blog comments links, free links, paid links, links all the way! i mean everything ends on backlinks right! don't you think this is cheating aswell!! ok, i would never use any script or generate fake traffic!! i simply hate this method, but then what about the auto hits traffic, a genuine person surfs your site with alexa toolbar installed, i guess this method is pretty much genuine which will imporve your alexa ranks!!!!!
I just have 2 stupid questions 1. Doesn't Alexa Toolbar have a unique number installed on your computer? i mean , when it's send back data to Alexa, don't it report your UNIQUE numbe (done under installation) so even if you change your IP... they ranks won't be affected?! 2. Don't they also care about IP Classes?!
I have no knowledge on how alexa toolbar works. I just assumed that changing your IP would boost alexa rankings. Rob
I also posted a method on how to boost alexa rankings. Check it out on this thread : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1307123
