Whether it brings a lot of traffic or not, it is still great to get a #1 result, and for that, congrats!
Man I must be pretty rubbish at this game. My sites been live for 3 months now and I only rank on page 10 on MSN for "cheap dvds uk" (I dont figure at all if you drop the UK)
MSN seems to rank new webistes quicker than all the other search engine. I suspect this will disappear after a month or soon. Now consentrate more on link building and updating your website. MSN also recommends to have robot.txt file included
well, as of today, I'm at SERP #100 in Yahoo too Now I just have to climb, and then get Google ranking as well...
there has been no email campaign (I have no list to send to). It's just a forum to discuss email marketing
MSN is dull search engine. I have lot of keywords rank #1 on MSN and in 10-20 in google but google gives more than 10 times of traffic than MSN
Exactly ferret77 I have some great rankings in MSN for plenty of one/two keyword phrases that generate a decent amount of traffic for me. Don't neglact getting rankings in MSN from the get-go, then work on Y! and then Google. Your rankings in MSN will help fund getting top listings in other engines.
I don't know about ranking but i get little traffic from MSN compared to Google and Yahoo. How do you optimize a site for MSN?
Just do what you wouldn't do to get ranked in Google. J.K. Actually it looks like Keywords in URL and Title Tag aswell as you inbound links and you should show well in MSN.
With the way MSN is headed it might not be worth your time to try and rank in their results. Plus you might risk your rankings in G and Y.
I agree with mr. hamster. Why bother adusting for MSN if it can hurt you in other SEs that bring 10 times the traffic that MSN does.
or maybe google will sandbox your site for the next 2 years and you will go broke and have to get a job or even worse google will never rank your site and you will have missed out on msn for nothing
