which is better for SEO?

if you are going to post some link to your site, for example in signatures and forum posts, which is better for SEO and link building?

1.) posting the entire url of your site? e.g. http://pinoypetcentral.com/ ?

or

2.) posting the keywords like: Pinoy Pet Lovers Forum ?

Definately number 2 (the keywords).

Another thing to think about is where you are linking from. You should try and link to your site from somewhere that is relevant to your niche.

For example, a link in your signature from another pet related forum will be more usefull than just a link in your signature from this forum.

If your site is new, better is put entire url. Too many links (to brand new site) with anchor text can be ban or filter .

if you would like keyword ranking then obviously you will use second method. This isn't good question. I think. you are seemed senior ad DP and talking about basic less question. anyway both method is good own place.
if you don't like keyword ranking and only want to show url to public then it is good otherwise second is god.

Sure you do...

Go to UserCP screen on DP.

Click on Edit Signature on the left navigation. An edit window will open where you can enter your signature.

Type "Make Money Online" into the signature edit window.

Highlight the phrase "Make Money Online".

Then while the phrase you want as your link text is highlighted, click on the Insert Link icon (3rd from right bottom row). This will prompt you to enter a URL... Paste in the URL you want the link text to point to...

Save.

Done

It's the same way you hyperlink text in your posts.

In crude terms - do what you would for html but use square brackets

 

And yes... As everyone has stated, unless you want the link to make you rank better for "http pinoypetcentral com" then #2 is by FAR much better as it will help you rank better for "Pinoy Pet Lovers Forum" and lots of other terms like "Pet Lovers Forum", "Pet Forum", "Pinoy Pet Lovers", "Pinoy Pet Forum", "Pinoy", "Pet", etc.

It is the link text or anchor text (the hyperlinked words) that tells Google and the other search engines what the page being linked to is about.

 

Someone that is trying to sell SEO services from a signature tag, should not be asking this questions.

I noticed you are selling SEO services to other, if you are not sure about how to create anchor text in a forum, maybe you should reconsider selling seo services to other webmasters.

GuruCreation: No disrespect intended, but; I would advise you to spend a few more years learning about SEO, then think about offering SEO services to others.

As for the original question: Option number (2) two is better for link building and keyword targeting.

 

It's depend on what term you want get rank well in SE. If you want get rank well with terms: yoururl.com then the 1st one is better, but if you want to get rank well with terms in your anchor text, then the 2nd one is better.
but, hey, it's better if you choose the 2nd one, cause who will search using your url?
