    Hello everyone!
Today, I have launched my web hosting company (Web Host Nation).

I have been planning this launch since last year. The main site is setup along with the packages and other features, and I am now accepting orders. However, I am still making small gradual changes.

I look forward to what this business could bring in the future.

Congrats from my side as well ! Just 1 mistake - "More" button points to a new order, not information ( you should fix it ).

I haven't personally had my own web hosting business before. However, I am experienced with cPanel, WHM, and WHMCS as I have helped various people set up reseller accounts.

Thank you both for the comments.

    Chris.

Why don't you hire a designer to design a unique template for your site?
It will make your site more professional looking.
And the price of your hosting is too high.
It better for new comer to offer hosting at low price.

Prices are a lot higher than other hosts. But other than that, it seems good.

Prices are not that high if support is top notch. Best is to cater to your local market becoz you won't find customers easily at that price.
    Best of Luck!

I agree with the recommendation for local marketing, it would be easier to start with.

    Good Luck!
Don't expect it to be easy and things will probally go wrong but its all a learning curve :)
Make sure you look after customers and keep backups!
Don't ever try do the cheap option, normally ends up working out for the worst

No, we do not promote warez hosting on our server.

So do you think the prices are too high? If so, what price would you consider more reasonable?

    Thank you,
    Chris.

Yes, they are too high ! Such a small space for 8$ ( ~ 5 GBP ) - too expensive ( before increasing it, gain some more rep and customers ).

Hello, thank you for the reply.

What prices would you consider more reasonable? I am thinking of lowering the Standard Plan to £2.50, Business Plan to £3.99, and the Advanced Plan to £5.99.

    What do you think?

    Than you,
    Chris.

Really depends on how much you paid for it, but I would go for 0.99$ ( smallest package ). At the moment, your plans are more likely designed for plain HTML websites ( with no dynamic content like videos, etc. )

Hello again, thank you for the feedback.
Ok, here are my updated packages, with more bandwidth and storage for a cheaper price.

These updated plans could cater for more dynamic websites, such as forums, videos, and other scripts with the updated Bandwidth and Storage space.

I have also added coupons for 25% off the standard - business package, and 50% off the advanced package. There is also a coupon for the first month for 1p on the Business - Advanced plans.

    Thank you,
    Chris.

    Thank you,
    Chris.

One thing I would adviseit, Do not make the TOS and Privacy Policy a Download (docx), Make a seperate page and add the contet there. I can download it but cannot read it in Windows Office 2003 :(

Your plans are 'ok' but they do not seem competative. Look at Hostgator as an example, If a potential client was to compare between your serviceand that of Hostgator, You would see that potential client move to the opposition due to their prices and what the have to offer.

It might be something to consider, But you will also need to update your site a little more, A subpage with more information with what is offer would go nicely, Nothing wrong with what you have, But a subpage with more information would give that 'potential' more of an idea on what comes with your packages rather than the standards.

Your site seems to be a free theme or a pirated one, I would look for something more competative & or custom. There are plenty of designers out there and are more than willing to help you create that perfect looking website.

As far as yor services go, You have your forums run 24/7, Though I do not see any forum link or follower?
For WHMCS I would recommend skinning this so it would fit into your website, Would give it a more respectable look & the same as with the forum (which is coming?).. You can get WHMCS integrations from desginers who know how to do them :)

As of the prices ondce again, They seem respectable though if you are going to compete you may want to revise them, Sit down and think about them. Do not just change them cause someone told you too.
I would advise taking what your host has given you and sit and revise and come up with something more respective and could compete rather than just changing them because of someones tell so's.

You should not just offer '%' off's, This can cause issues, Again sit and revise. If you were looking at it in the $dollar - Your lowest plan is $11.88 a yr, Take25% off and it would be $8.91 - Not much of a profit.
Your advanced plan would = $44.xx after the 25% Sale.

It is my personal opinion, You really need to think about what you are going to offer.

eFishy made a valuable point about things going wrong, Do not think or expect them, Rather take them as posibilities. Do not think crap it will happen cause it is never 100% true that it will, But take it under your hat and be prepared for worst case scenarios.

Wow, There is so much writing. However, I do hope you understand that running a hosting business is alot of work and you should be in it for the love no the money, otherwise you will not get anywhere.

    Sean
