I've had a great campaign running for months now. All of my keywords have had quality scores of 9/10 & 10/10. My landing pages have great, relevant content and my CTR has been in the 15%-20% range over a 3 month period. Then, on March 17th, all of my keyword quality scores for that campaign went to 1/10...for no reason. I didn't change anything on any of the landing pages. The "Details & Suggestions" say my landing page is the problem all of sudden. This is bullshit because my landing page is so keyword targeted it's ridiculous...so they don't know what the F they're talking about. So now that it's been like this for a few weeks, I've re-vamped my landing pages for all of the groups. The QS score is still at 1/10. If I delete the keywords and then re-add them, the QS score is still 1/10, even with the new landing page. I've even made a 3rd version of the landing page and I can't get a new QS score for that one either. It's like the keywords are stuck at a QS1. If I add new keywords, they will have a QS score of 7,8,9/10 with the same I don't know what to do at this point.
I really know what you mean. Adwords is already pissing me off. Imagine that I sell fridges and nothing but fridges and my ad contains the word fridge and Smart google decides that the word fridge is not relevant! What am I gonna do? sell my fridges as dishwashers so uncle google is happy?! Iam seriously pissed off. Iam trying to find a way to restart the keywords,I increased bids, created new campaigns, new ads and nothing!
I hear ya brother. I've deleted the entire campaign, and rebuilt it, with the same results. I have other campaigns going for other products, with the exact same landing page style and setup, and they all have great quality scores. I have no idea why this campaign went from great to completely useless overnight.
Did you change the domain name at all? Once it gets a 1/10 QS, it usually stays like that forever. If that's not your problem, then I highly suggest you contact google for a manual review. If everything is as relevant as you say it is, then you should have no problem getting it up and running again.
If I change the landing page domain name to a completely different site, the QS score goes back up. I think I'm going to have to change all of my landing pages to that related domain, and then have the end site be the original domain I've been using for months now. I contacted google and they just said "Nope, there's no problem with domain, it's just the quality of your landing pages". Like I said, I CHANGED NOTHING on any of the landing pages from when they were kicking ass. All of a sudden...boom, Google hates my good landing pages. No rhyme or reason to it that I can figure.
Yeah I agree, Adwords can be so frustrating some times. Have you tried moving your campaigns over to MSN Adcenter or Yahoo search marketing? I actually do quite well with MSN on some of my PPC campaigns.
