How to Get listed in DMOZ

I have submitted all of my sites to the DMOZ but none are listed. Some were submitted months ago. Can anyone give me any hints or suggestions. I suspect I won't get a YPN account until that happens. Anyhelp guys?

Wrong forum... Search the forums for DMOZ. You will get plenty of answers regarding this issue.

Getting a YPN account has nothing to do with getting into DMOZ!

DMOZ submissions can take years. Be patient and concentrate on other methods of promoting your site.

    good luck!

    a) make sure you submitted to the right category preferably one with active editor with good non-marketing description
    b) wait and pray
    c) become editor and work your way through ranks until you reach categories you want, shouldn't take more then few thousand good edits ;)

Would it help to volunteer to become an editor?

Yes, if only because it reduces the load on the other editors so they have time to review yours sooner.

No preferential treatment will be given though!

I have tried this a few times and every time i get an email that says

congratulations, we really like you and would like you to become an editor. However this category is too big for a new editor and/or it already has enough editors so we ask you to plese resubmit in a smaller category. . .

    something like that

if your submitting your site to a small category then yes it would help if they accept you because then they could add your own web site.

    good luck

Posting messages like that is likely to result in your site never being listed.

I was being sarcastic. Honestly. I stopped caring about the DMOZ along time ago. After I learned that they were displaying Porn and other nonsense.
