    You can download this plugin
    http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/

It will show all no follow links in red color.

Yes, FF plugin is a smart tool as it highlights the links that are 'nofollow' thus making it easier to see which links are 'nofollow'.

It's really tough to search them manually and just use the plug-in to detect them.

I use Fast Blog Finder the gold edition however they have a free version that's pretty good for a start.

Fast blog finder gives you automatically "dofollow" blogs based on the keywords you're looking for. Give it a try, just google it, it's on the first page. :)

Agree. Use Firefox browser and get the SEOQUAKE installed. You can easily see if a link is dofollow or not.

Some blogs give dofollow links after few comments. That will be the webmaster is using "Top commentator" or "Comment Luv" Plug-ins.

Using browser to search for dofollow blogs is a nightmare and takes huge amount of time. I use FBF gold edition too.

As you discuss the DoFollow vs. NoFollow concept and the associated Browser Addins, remember that each of the Blogs, Directories, Forums are doing everything to block their PR bleed. If a page has a graybar, it will not pass page rank. Therefore the link has no value.

If somewhere within the link navigation there is a javaScript link, the SEs can not follow it.

If somewhere within the navigation there is a nofollow or noindex, the SEs will not index it.

If somewhere within the navigation there is a broken link, page name misspelling and such, the SEs will not indxe it.

And finally, most of the DoFollow Blogs will achive the threads after 6 months. This moves the contents to a new URL. This breaks the links and again, the links you have worked so very hard for has no value.

One other thing to look out for is the copy and past comments many of you use. The Forum Modiator will just delete them.

I don't agree. Even PR0 website has its own role to transfer PR. But the amount of link juice will be small.

Right on most accounts... definitely wrong on one... The following is absolutely incorrect:

If you understand what you're seeing in the Google Toolbar PR you would know that this statement is incorrect. The Google toobar PR is typically several weeks if not several months out of date. When Google publishes a toolbar PR update as they did at the begining of April, the new toolbar PR is already several weeks old the minute it is published... and only a snapshot of what your PR was several weeks before they published it.

On the day they publish the toolbar PR update, it might show graybar but your 'real' PR may already be a PR0 or PR1 or PR2 or PR3 or more because of links you've received in the last 2-3 wks since they took the snapshot. You have absolutely no way of knowing what the 'real' PR is and whether the link is passing you PR. Your 'real' PR is being updated constantly... every few minutes... hourly... daily... as they recrawl, reindex, and re-evealute the PR of pages on your site, the sites that link to you, the sites that link to the sites that link to you, etc.

So saying graybarred sites don't pass PR is just plain wrong... There is no way to know. The tool bar may show a graybarred PR but your 'real' PR might be PR4 because the toolbar has not been updated recently.

The opposite may be true too... Your toolbar PR might show a PR4 making you think it is passing you a good amount of PR when in reality the page may already have penalized and not passing page rank. Today it shows a toolbar PR4 when in reality the 'real' PR of the page is the equivalent of a gray bar.

Bottom line... You CANNOT look at the Google Toolbar and know what the actual PR of a page is... You are looking at the past! not the present PR!

I do agree w/ the rest of your statements though.
