My one domain expired and now it is in the redemption period and I want to re-register it. Its register with Godaddy. When I sent an email to them they said that I have to pay 90.89$ to get the domain. Is there any other way to get it???

    Domain expired on 15-01-09

Either make a backorder with veterans like SnapNames, or be ready to register
it when it's available within 35-36 days from its last updated date.

You need to pay the additional charges if you want to buy back the domain from the redemption period. One another way is to back order the domain. Backordering will register that domain once it gets available in the market again. However, there is no guarantee that backordering will always be successful in capturing the domain name.

What if the redemption period expires?

I had one domain that expired and after months i still can't get it. And it is in a somehow suspended state.

Redemption period differs between registrars, usually it lies between 35 and 45 days after the expiration date.

Furthermore, some registrars keep domains with traffic for a longer period. It's always wise to keep an eye on your domains my friend.

Oh, do a WHOIS on the domain, and note the line "last updated date".

Now, you said the domain's on Redemption Period. The last updated date line
will tell you when that happened, which is then why I said count 35-36 days
from that when it'll be available.

Guys, it's nice to post if especially intended to help. But let's be careful what
we're posting as it might confuse rather than guide.

Don't confuse redemption period with the domain's expiration, which can take
a while as you both indicated. The link below ought to clarify when a domain
expires and when it's on redemption, especially for a .com:

    http://www.icann.org/en/registrars/gtld-lifecycle.htm

Unfortunately more details might be needed to figure out what happened. One
thing I can suggest is check with the registrar for specifics.

Recall I said count 35-36 days from the last updated date. From the updated
date line you posted, start counting.
