Nice directory, categories are well structured too.

To through my two cents in - would it be worth adding a regional category for city/town specific sites? And the alexa thumbnails are not displaying and seem to be slowing down the rendering of your site.

You can find an 'Australian Places' section in the 'Australiana' category that essentially serves as a regional category. As for the Alexa thumbnails... well that's a problem with Alexa unfortunately! Grrrrrrrrr!

 

Found the category, that makes sense. Excuse my painted on eyes!!

With alexa - could you make another feild in your database and cache/store the images in there? Then populate the feilds in the same way that pr is done in phpld (ie via adding a function to pagerank.php)

Thats the way i did it for directories.myfinancedirectory.com so as to not continually be doing requests to alexa and speed up page load. Although, im working with data and not images...should be a way though.

 

I had the same thought myself this morning. Will look into it for sure.

Incidentally, would you be able to fix me up with a reciprocal link in your directory? I tried to do it myself last night but it wouldn't recognise the URL to the category you are in in the Down Under Index. Would appreciate it if you could.
