Why don't you start with DP own Link Exchange forum : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=53 - Dynashox -
Buying backlinks can absolutely get you banned from AdSense if they become aware of this behavior. Paid links are against Google's terms of service, period. A lot of folks are going to tell you this is okay, most likely because they're engaging in the practice themselves. You do not want to run the risk of seeing all your hard work go down the drain over something this stupid.
Don't post nonsense. Care to point out the portion of the Adsense TOS that prohibits the buying links for your website? Didn't think so.
I don't think you can get banned, but don't risk it anyway. If you want to but links use services like TLA or similar since they have ways to camouflage the link buying activity.
I assure you, whatever methods TLA is using these days in an attempt to mask their links, Google will catch on and begin happily penalizing sites that engage in this sort of behavior. I really don't feel bad for anyone who suffers as a result, as the whole model behind TLA has always been against the TOS for the largest search engine on the planet.
Sorry, I can not agree with you on this. I have a very popular site that receives thousands of daily visits and it uses both Adsense and TLA. Obviously, I don't go around advertising this and the links from TLA are in my content, not on the sidebar. I've been using this combination for over a year and am very happy to say that my site has never been penalized. Please understand that this is my experience, other people might not have had the same luck.
I concur with this opinion as there is nothing in Adsense Tos that states of the same. Adsense rightfully should be concerned only with the fraudulent clicks..nothing more..nothing less... Regards, RightMan
I agree it wouldn't make sense for adsense to penalize link buying. There seems to be a more widespread consensus that google penalizes link buying or even swapping when deciding search results. In that case their position would be that paid for links are fine if you are using them for traffic. Not fine if you are trying to manipulate their SERPs algorythm.
Although this is not from Adsense but it is something not allowed as per the Google's webmasters guide. See HERE and HERE But, I don't think it is easy to judge whether these are paid links or not unless some one report them to G with proof.
We're talking about adsense, not what can affect SERPS. Paid links have nothing to do with violating Adsense guidelines. You'll also notice it says "Not all paid links violate our guidelines." .
if buying links are penalized by google, then your competitor can buy links on your behalf and make your site penalized. is that possible?
