Xoom India to India via PayPal

    If I wanted to send money to my friend residing in India via Xoom and paying by PayPal as a Bank deposit or a Demand draft, would it be approved?

    Why you want to do that? You should send money using check or net banking. Sending money using xoom will take more time.

    Can't you send him the money in his or her PayPal account? And then your friend can withdraw the funds to bank account - it generally takes 2 business days.

    Yes. You can send money using your indian paypal account to anybody in india through bank transfer or check delivery using xoom service.

    I have done so many transactions in past without having any problem (only cash pickup not allowed for india to india transfer).

    Its not legal actually. Sometime Zoom does allow such transaction. All you need to do while mentioning your address, make it an USA address. Give a phone number which hardly anyone answer. It may be your friend's address in USA :) . Zoom will allow the transaction then.

    But I just wonder why not try paypal bank tranfer to India. Indians can now withdraw from paypal. And its very fast. Generally within 3-4 days money is your bank account.
