I paid this group to do a spider. They gave me a timeline of 2 days. After 30 days I have not had a working script sent to me. I paid them and they refuse to refund my money.

They have sent several versions of the software to me which they claim works on their system but does not work on mine. I have asked several times to prove it worked on theirs but they didn't do that either.

Be warned and do not prepay for any work. I have filed a complaint with paypal which they should resolve here in a few weeks.

 

As a word of advice, I would never higher someone out without using a safe platform (Elance, GetaFreelancer, Rentacode etc.)

 

Its good that you are informing us about the scam or the incapability of the group. Thats how the social trade should work.
But don't you think publicizing the personal details will let you have any benefit to your sour deal?
Its not a good practice, they are not criminals that we need an address to catch them or to have safe distance.
Practice good methods like releasing email ID, Digital Point ID or company name they use. They are more than enough.
And here at DP there is a simple method, give them a negative itrader. Its meant for this kind of bad deals.
In your case they didn't ran away, they kept in contact, they however failed to provide details and return money and should be dealt with paypal claim, negatice itrader and public announcement.
But not like you, disclosing all the personal details.

 

Thats the thing. these scammers use so many different forum names its hard to track them all down.

Paypal denied my claim because it was a digital item. I am going to file a charge back now with the bank.

 

when you deal with someone here..check the itrader + post + rep..its really matter

 

I found them on a different message board, under another username. If I had found them here I would have never hired them

Tell you the truth personally i have made it my goal not to work with anyone from INDIA i have been scammed 3 times so far from people in india that i would rather pay someone that will provide quality for the buck. Would rather just pay more and get a great product then a little cheaper to get scammed.

 

No No , thats not the truth. I am too a freelance programmer from India. And even i am scammed 3 times from the people of other nations : 1 from Pakistan , 2nd from Australia and 3rd from Russia.

Its not about nation. Scammers can be found in any country.

 

Yes you are right mastipalace. Because I too scammed couple of times from other nations.....

 

no dont talklike that sir ,there are many great webmaster in india ,you can see great indian members in DP there are some people who scams other people there are many people from many countries do scams then world is full of scam

Hey lol me from France still.. i love INDIAN coder they are one of the highest among gud coders inwhole freelancing world..

In any good place INDIAn Freelancer are the most reputed and high numbered people.

It depends on the individual if he have enough ethics or not.

Being a freelancer i was aloso let down by many webmaster ..
and they are from different countries...

So my request ... to all you dont comment on any communal or racial manner..

 

An australian has scammed me for 200$.. I worked for him.. Another australian pays me good.. So, never say that people from a particular country only scam...

Not saying that all people from INDIA are scammers. Matter of fact meet some really nice people ... so i guess its just my luck

true say, never hire any indian compnay unless you sure abut it. also make sure do not pay them advance because most indian company are sacmmers and tnhey will demanding you to pay before work done. i have scammed 1 worth $3900 from another compnay. i am dealing wiht the legal method therefore i cannot share the company details now but once everything sort out i will belet you know what is that company.

There is nothing rare or conditional about what you said.
Its a general practice! You have to go through the company details before hiring them.
Its your money, take a good control over its flow.
After effects are there like taking legal actions.

@mastipalace said scammers are everywhere.

You have to take extra precautions when dealing with people or companies and mostly when the deal costs $$$$.
There is nothing specific in india or elsewhere regarding those dirty people they are the same and will be the same forever and wherever.

Its pretty sad what happened in your case, wish you all the best.

 

See there are many indians here

some people who indulge in such stuff so the ratio is less and i am sure many people here feel indian service is better
