Hi, I just put up a new site and got it indexed and it shows in Google Search in just one day. I did not even submit the site to any search engines. As an experiment I just added text links to a couple of my other high traffic sites. I'm no expert at this stuff, but that sure seems fast. Is it normal to be indexed that fast?
Normally a site can be indexed within hours if pointed to from the right places. You might experience that the site will drop in and out of the index the first couple of days - that's completely normal.
you can get indexed in as little as 10 minutes depending on where you submit your site. there are several ways of getting indexed quick, one of them is by submitting to few top/popular dofollow social bookmarking sites
Your procedure is fairly normal as google would have picked up your new site link from your high traffic sites. Even registering your site with google analytics also results in very quick indexing... Regards, RightMan
Cool. Thanks for all your comments. Now I know to just throw a text link on one of my other sites. Thanks again!
Site will get index very soon if we submit them to few bookmarking sites like digg.com, humsurfer.com etc but they dont stay on the google pages for long time.
I normally submit my new site to digg and able to get it indexed within hours. But like you say, it normally doesn't stay for long.
fact is google loves fresh content and fresh website and normally google crawler take update every site at regular interval of time
If you use webmasters tools, usually it gets indexed within a day even without having external links.
Be careful giving new sites links like that on your other bigger ones - going overboard'll get you stuck in the sandbox
adding google analytic, optimization.sitemaps and more with long tail submission will make the indexing not juts fast but also long term
As far as I know, new sites are really easy to be index now by Google. Google loves newly build website. Well, maintain it, keep updating your website so it will be crawl more by SE bots.
If any social bookmark site pointing to your new site, then even without submission of site or sitemap, site gets indexed fast.
Nothing new... it's pretty normal, especially if you link from high traffic sites which are indexed on a regular basis...
that's awesome. it's pretty easy to get indexed nowadays.. but now google prefers all natural link building and also natural content, that's the reason why the social sites related SERPs change very quickly. but at least, it's quick to be indexed.
I disagree. The sandbox doesnt even work that way anymore. The problem is more that a link from the same IP and same structure is less valuable. So even over time your website will stay out of Google. Its not a sandbox. Its simply not interesting enough once it loses the 'freshness'. Google likes fresh content and adds it in a few hours, and pushes it out of it after a while once its no longer news/actual and gets no new extra links. So you should try to get more links over time. Like promote it to a few other websites in a day or two. And get a few more in a week or so. That way you wont get into something like a sandbox, and you will stay being ranked. Just promote it on more places than just your own websites. Which is always a good idea. But if you think its related to your own websites, then dont worry and just go overboard at promoting your own new website. Nothing bad about that at all! When I launch a new website I do add links on tons of my own websites and it always stays out of the sandbox now. But I also always make sure not all links pointing to it, are links from just my own websites. I request a few links from other websites as well.
