Let me get this straight here. This cat lives in Poland wants to buy something from you and wants to have you send a payment request to him so he can pay. He is willing to pay shipping because he is BumjunkkEgypt and knows that it will be outrageous shipping. Am I there so far?

I don't see the scam here. Paypal links are encrypted, he can't get any useful information off of them. Am I missing something here? I guess I am.

If he was from Africa, I would say scam city My guestimation is that he has purchased from America (or wherever) before and knows the drill, that it will cost him an arm and a leg for shipping. If he sends you the dough, simply take it out right away and ship him the damn thing. That's what I would do.

He cannot gather any useful info from an encrypted PayPal link. Not that I am aware of anyway. Ask PayPal. They do answer the phone you know?

I think it's more to do with them receiving the item and then doing a chargeback straight away, what with paypal almost always backing the buyer in disputes they will get the money back from paypal and you would then owe paypal to clear your negative balance.

Just make sure you ship it so that he is required to sign for it. If he signs for the package that is proof that he received it. In cases where it is just one word against another, paypal usually backs the buyer, but if you have some evidence paypal will support you. You could also tell him that you are worried about a chargeback scam and you want to have a 10 day waiting period before you ship the item. If you have a long wait and then have him sign for it there is no way he would win the case.

Aaahhhh... You know what I missed? CRAIGSLIST! That is what I forgot to factor in. But still, so he does a chargeback? Of course, that is a not o good thing. I guess the item floating around in la-la land is an issue too. Overall, it does sound like a risky proposition, What is this item? If we could ask.

    its some nice subwoofers...

85lbs and a pretty big box is $800+ for shipping, i checked :) I think it is a scam, buyer says he will still pay for it. Is there a way i could be 100% safe before shipping it?

Get a western union payment. It can't be refunded or canceled once you receive the money.

Print a shipping label through paypal, paypal tracks it and makes sure it gets to them. There is no way to get a charge back.

That is what I thought right there. I would for sure investigate the possibility of doing the transaction. Whether I would do it or not... Who knows? ( I wish I had that decision to make right now...:D )
