MAJOR FACT: I am not getting any good Traffic just average 50 UV / per day. and few page-view

I have another website getting traffic more than 100 UV and pageview over 2-3K but alexa rank is 8 lac+ still lower rank so far 5.5 Lac

 

i always have problem with alxa , i don't believe a word they tell me

I use to always worry about Alexa ranking and take pride when my number got better. now it doesn't mean much after finding out people are somehow manipulating it. Also at times, Alexa took weeks to update.

On the other hand, I like the new look Alexa. Must've been a recent upgrade?

 

I find Alexa is 2 day back of actual listing.

I think alexa is much more accurate with popular sites ie sites below 200k. For the less popular sites its not that reliable.

It relys on feedback from the toolbar thats downloaded by internet users, and because of this it is more reliable with the types of sites that the "tech savy" internet user is most likely to visit.

I find it a useful tool, and I think its results can have a bearing on your rankings.

 

Right , alexa is not accurate forever...

Personally, Alexa rank and what ever stats they show means absolutely nothing to me. It's not accurate, and it really holds no insight into traffic, conversions, or value to the site ( unless you find a "Page rank" "Alexa Rank" buyer).

If they had a real way of actually tracking visitors, it might hold a little more weight with me, but for now..it means nothing.

 

It means site ranked in the first of 200.000 of sites.

 

I feel the same way. Useless information, really. I had a site with low Alexa, still wasn't making a dime. I quit obsessing on ranks and PR's. Took the Sparky deal off, etc. After retooling after my daughters death last year I am focused on listeners and members. Whatever happens - happens. That's just me though. I still look, just not like an addict waiting for his next fix.

 

I found it ok except part where it sort visitors by country they come from.

 

Do you think it is fear that Alexa counts only visitors that have alexa-tool-bar installed on their pc.... ?

 

There are not enough internet users with the Alexa toolbar installed to make it reliable. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

 

the number always not consistency with traffic. very strange to me.

 

I try to keep my Alexa rating low because,

1) I feel happy when my ranking keep getting good

2) Some ad networks consider your Alexa rating. Ex: adbrite
