I have used Godaddy for several years with about 20 domains registered there over time.

Godaddy is very reliable and fast.

You can register a .info for $1.99 for the first year.

I sometimes you .info for a temporary or test site.

Godaddy is the cheapest domain registrar, register 10 domains and get 60% discount . Just use the 'bulk register' to get the discount.

I use the promo code "emma3" on godaddy.com and I can get .com domains for around $7.50 no matter how many I buy.

GoDaddy.com has promo codes more frequently. Hence, the registration and renewal prices become less than their competitors. So, I think GoDaddy is the cheapest.

GoDaddy costs double if you want the Whois privacy. That's another 9 bucks to protect your site information from spam bots collecting the email you register the domain with.

I use NameCheap.com and it includes the Whois privacy without charging extra. About $9 a domain. If you want something cheaper than that, then remember this; "You Get What You Pay For" to be a cheapskate.

If you are concerned about whois guard there are number of registrars that throw this one for free.. like netfirms.(but id stay away from them.)

moniker charges $2.00 for privacy protection.
openSRS sells domains for $10 with free privacy
netfirms sells domains for $6 with free privacy as well

Namecheap can cost a lot to have those free privacy renewed.

If you really want them CHEAP, here's one I came accross: setname.net only $4.00
there are number of registrar charging at that price have'nt tried them yet though.

    For domains Godaddy is good.

For hosting I use these guys. http://www.hostdepartment.com

Go daddy will not let me stream one single MP3 from a hosted account. Only dedicated. Their customer service is top notch, but I can't afford 400 a month for a dedicated server. Plus, I know where they live... I am in Arizona!

Don't get anything but a .com if you can get it. Anything else is second rate.

Is this true? I just bought 8 domains over the past 2 days at name.com for $8.20, if that's true, I should have just buy 2 more domains and all from godaddy. :(

*I started with Godaddy 1 year ago (one domain), then I started to avoid GoDaddy when name.com was charging only $5.99 per domain (now I have over 43 domains with name.com lol):(

    godaddy steals your money.. http://nodaddy.com

plus having tried out this three, having no knowledge of domains... namecheap, godaddy, moniker..

namecheap has the easiest control panel but most expensive price compared to three.. namecheap isnt really cheap.. but they have great service there..
