    Hi,
All this is an effort to get everybody's answer and make it as one thread to be read for all the issues on "WHY GOOGLE PENALIZE"

I would like to know from you more and also gather info in this thread so that people are aware and don't do such mistakes to avoid any penalty from google

Answers can be text or links or even links to threads within this forum which are scattered

So I would say my answer :
Over link building, if it recognizes too many links have been built then it will see it as an UN-NATURAL way to just boost your Page rank and consider as manipulated, so never do over link building always make sure google see your link building efforts as NATURAL

Please share your experience or expertise in this subject, also post the links which might be useful or even threads in DP which just talk on one particular issue of penalty , just post link here so that anyone in future can refer all the possible penalties to avoid from google in one single thread

    Thanks to all in advance

They penalise to condition you into being submissive, the idea is to provide everything for searchers in exchange for their souls.

As webmasters its to remind you that your playing "their" game and not the other way around. :)

Suffice it to say, if you understand that Google's goal is to provide RELEVANT search results for their users, and you work to provide relevant information in your website, you should do well. On the other hand, if you are using trickery, "gamesmanship", or whatever you want to call it to drive yourself to the top of the search results with information that is not the most relevant to the search, the Google will likely penalize you (or more likely, the approach you used to get to the top of the results....).

When Google sees a pattern where folks are getting their sites to the top, yet the sites are not relevant, they research what these site managers are doing and then adjust their algorithm to address the issue. A simple example - in the early days of the Internet when porn sites would load up on title tags that had nothing to do with their content but had high search results to get them to the top, etc...

Anything that for some reason triggers Google's current filter system is "a black hat tactic", or looks like one in the eyes of Google.

Google don't like black hat techniques, when you are using black hat techniques at that time Google will penalize

"Over link building, if it recognizes too many links have been built then it will see it as an UN-NATURAL way"

I think a site can not get penalized for getting too many backlinks in short period of time, as if google used to penalize sites for getting too many backlinks [quickly], then people will start to do all this for their competitors in order to get them penalized. The worst that can happen is that google will ignore such links, that is, you will get no credit for those links.

Things like duplicate content in your own site: that is something which will cause penalty.
Hidden content: Bad redirects: Spyware and things like that: Showing different set of content to SEs and users etc These things are what cause penalties.

Google will penalize websites when webmasters do something that's against its approved policies. Some of them are hidden texts, spam comments, duplicate contents etc. To be precise, follow the webmaster guidelines scrupulously :)

    'why does google penalize'?

Because what they primarily 'sell' is their expertise in returning relevant search engine results.

If you try to subvert their activities, it makes (in their eyes) their results worse - i.e. you are 'spoiling' their product, and that's worth penalizing, obviously.

If you meant 'Under what conditions does google penalize', that's a different question.

Google expects webmasters respecting its webmaster rules mentioned on its pages online and some penalties have been defined for the webmasters and sites using other methods for artificially improving their sites rankings over the net.

    Hello my friend,
Google penalize any site because owner of the website can do illegal works with websites. Do you know about white hat SEO and black hat SEO. White hat SEO is a legal technique of SEO, while black hat SEO is an illegal technique. In this technique various techniques are included and they are:
    Keyword Stuffing
    Invisible Text
    Cloaking
    Doorway Pages
    Selling Page Rank
    Buying Expired Domains
    Link Spamming
    Link Farming
    Spam Blogs
    Page Hijacking
    Mirror Websites
    URL Redirection etc.
So my dear friend these are the illegal techniques if it is done by anyone with his or her website then there is a chance for Google to Penalize for it. So my friend Don't do this..

I agree with you. I've seen many sites get penalized for using this technique but then again there's a company near where I live that has been doing it for years and their site hasn't been sandboxed or the other link farms that they have.
