    Hi
    I'm using Underhost services since 1 month ago. So happy with their services. And i write down here my some reviews about them.

    My current website on them: http://jsharing.com
    Using: Semi Dedicated
    Uniques: ~1500

    I stay online with my site over 12/24 to check everything.

    Uptime / Downtime:
    This's reported by siteuptime.com.
    Actually by myself i didnt see too much downtime like that. But sometime i got "Can't connect to MySQL Database". Look like something used too much system resource (i don't think it come from my site).

    System version:
    Should they upgrade all thing to latest ?
    PHP: 5.2.9-2 (Do php is released for Unix system w/ this version ?)
    Apache: 2.2.11 (uhm should you upgrade your Apache from 2.0.x to 2.2.x)
    MySQL: 5.1.33 (uhm should you upgrade your MySQL from 5.0.x to 5.1.x)
    But no probs. Everything still working perfect for me.

    System status:
    Not too much probs. My browser is Opera can load my site with smoothly. (Sometime as i said have disconnected with MySQL)

    Just one "prob" i'm not really "happy" (but ok with support to solve it). That's all my new files / dirs was created by Joomla. Like installed new exts, cached files ..etc.
    Its always use 99 owner permission. Almost my another hosting (DreamHost - BlueHost, Godaddy, ...) dont have this prob. It's always use my current "root" account cpanel for owner permission with all new files / dirs.

    One more thing:
    - I don't know (or it cant ?) have custom php.ini
    - With Joomla user must contact support for turn off safe_mode. But nice, their service working perfect. Just take under 1hour (often 15-30m) to solve it.
    Santrex have these probs too.

    About support:
    Anything more ... let's me think.
    Aha.
    Their Semi-Dedicated allowed SSH. (uhm but it can't help me with owner permission issuse. Its still need support)

    Oki. They'r using Installatron Applications Installer for quick install.
    I didnt use it before. Dont need for me. I'm always install everything by myself.

    Look like that all i know about them. ops. one more thing:
    Underhost: You'r using "some" domain for your services.
    Uhm if new customers come to you. I think it should "hard" to belive a company with "many" domains (by myself i think that. but i passed to try and ... so glad with you).

    For the uptime the servers are offshore then we try to fit all client requirements, offshore are more risky to get users try to abuse on our servers, so the downtime as the result of these client, we do the best to fix any security/abuse issue immediately but our senior security tech cannot be online 24/24. However we always try to get the best uptime as we can.


    PHP 5.2.9-2 are not a stable version you can get some error from old PHP script.
    Same for Apache, we use both PHP4 and PHP5 on our servers 2.2.11 are not enough stable with PHP4 script.
    MySQL run more smooth with 5.0.x, but there no problem if you want to get a upgrade on MySQL our tech will be able to do this, because there no problem related so far with 5.1.33.

    MySQL issue from "Too Many Connection" was solved monday, let us know if you have again error on SQL.

    This are not really fair, Server Load: Often around 1 - 5% CPU (8), this is ok and totally true 5% most of the time are caused by servers backup, because we backup all site 1 time per day on our backup servers.

    But for memory used, our servers have 4GB ram then run currently at 1.86GB ram (38%)
    note: we can upgrade our servers ram at anytime if needed.


    "99 owner" did you check on google? (this issue are not related to our servers, but on joomla files itself)

    You can create php.ini files then put it to our /public_html/, however we are always happy to help so we can fix your php.ini requirements.

    You need to be a superusers/root to get access to chown.

    We use both installatron and fantastico on our servers.

    We use one domains per servers, our owner are in domaining world then they like to add new domains :p
    ( i think myself, they are preferable to use all nameservers with "ns*.underhostnetworks.com, this suggestion was already made on our last meeting )

    I'm glad w/ your uptime. Just show off result from checker site.

    Not really.
    Because i saw another my host use these version so just say this. I have no probs with it.

    Sometime (not often but ... sometime) memory use reached over 97%. By myself, in these time my website have some lag (MySQL Connect issues this time).
    But it's ok. I have no complain about it. But more RAM upgrade is ok too :D

    Sorry. About this i dont agree w/ you.
    I used another hosting like: BlueHost, HostMonster, GoDaddy, DreamHost and some asian server. But have no trouble w/ it.
    These hosting always have my account owner for new files was created by Joomla.
    But again, it's ok. Just worry that i have bother many times your support team to ask for change owner :)
    I hope they wont hate me for this.

    Uhm because i dont have your default php.ini so im worry to try it.
    It's better by provide your default php.ini and i can custom it.
    For example: Sometimes i need turn on dislay_errors to debug my script code
    But later, need turn it off for live site. Bother your support team is not good idea ;)

    In fact. I dont have w/ semi dedicated pack.

    Im afraid we have some misunderstand.
    I mean your website domain:
    It's underhost.us
    But support site using: undershare.inf o/client/contact.ph p
    Domain service using:uhtld.com/domains.ph p
    Semi Dedicated don't have "homepage" just jump to cart page: undershare.info/client/car t.ph p?gid=7
    As i said. It's ok. But im afraid new users will have some "worry" *(like me before use your services)
