I have this same e-mail and wonder if it is not basis for anti-trust lawsuit, basically they want to eliminate any competition within the paid search market. They only pay Google 1 cent per click so I don't know why they are doing this. I can see a nice chunk of their revenues dropping off short term.
This is not good. But what else we can do about it ... NOTHING ! First they reduce the commission rate and now they no longer allow associates to get traffic from paid search. It is not far when they will finally put an end to Amazon Associate program
Phew I just read the FAQ page and found something that should help some people. The issue is you cannot send paid search traffic to your Amazon affiliate links. You can send paid traffic to your website where your Amazon affiliate links are used to build out content. Still in the game woot!!!!!
It's bad news for me too. Can I promote Amazon products by drive traffic to any landing page of my site by using PPC.
this one is unclear also for those using AWS. https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/promo/paidsearch How do we notify them that we wish to continue to use AWS and who do we notify .... via contact form, email to what address ? do we notify amazon or the aws team ? anyone know ? also another worry. If someone does not like you, what is to stop them using paid search with your associate ID and getting you banned?
Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.fr and Amazon.de still allow affiliates to use ppc for making money with them, but I think in the future it going to be No Longer Pay Referral Fees. Let try to use astore or landing page instead of. See my astore sample for getting your idea. PS3
This is what I want to know too. What if you use AOM, then you will need to notify Amazon, right? Because it is datafeed. However, Amazon also stated "Amazon will no longer make data feeds available to Associates for the purpose of sending users to the Amazon websites in the US or Canada via paid search." Does this mean that we can not use PPC to get traffic to AOM?
This is what you cannot do Buy this product Its simply the must have this year www. coolwebsite.com - Display URL www. youramazonaffiliatelink.com - Destination URL NOT ALLOWED This is what you can do Buy this product Its simply the must have this year www. coolwebsite.com - Display URL www. coolwebsite.com/landingpage.xxx - Destination URL You must have your very own website or blog to send PPC traffic to, then if they click a link on your website they are sent to Amazon which is fine. You do not need to notify Amazon as they know already who is using direct linking and who is not.
Thank you for your answer, but from this it seems we need to notify Amazon. I am using both direct and indirect links. I am asking Amazon about sending PPC traffic to AOM and hope they will say the same thing as you.
Yeah, I noticed this too and it is interesting how we should notify them. My first thought was I will see some "Policy change form" after logging in into Amazon Assiciates (something like AdSense "policy changes" notification) with "Accept" button. But I didn't found any new "Accept changes" form in the associates area. It seems they prefer to load their support staff with work by handling/answering inquiries from their affiliates instead of coding some kind of simple "Accept" form...
If my site is comparison so I have many shops available include with Amazon? Is it affect to agreement?
