I'm not sure if all of my sales are tracking.

    I recently noticed that a lot of the links are getting clicked but sales are minimal, I just changed some of my site design which forced me to set up the html code differently.

    For example, the following code is given by CJ:

    <a href="Sample affiliate link" target="_top">
    Sample text</a>
    <img src="http://www.afcyhf.com/image-3393842-10387719" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

    If I leave the code that way, and I click on the link there is usually an extra pixel right by the link. You can see an example in the picture below.

    However when the code is changed to the following.

    <a href="Sample affiliate link" target="_top">Sample text</a>
    <img src="http://www.afcyhf.com/image-3393842-10387719" width="1" height="1" border="0"/>

    The pixel is no longer there, is that something that could be causing the tracking of sale to not be registered?

    I am missing the difference between the two codes... could you highlight the difference?

    The codes are identical, however the URL and Link Description are on the same line in the second code, as opposed to the first link where the URL is on the first line and the Link Title is on the second line.

    That wouldn't make a difference. You should have no issue there as far as tracking goes.

    It could be the advertiser, some of them are a wee bit dishonest on CJ.

    Hmm, I don't think it was the advertiser, as it was Buy.com.

    That would be strange. I use buy.com as well and never a problem with them. Maybe the buyer did not accept cookies? For sure, I'd be asking the CJ folks or even your affiliate mgr at buy.com.

    At this point I'm clueless.

    One other thing I always do is to change the wording that they use as it's generally weak when it comes to selling the product line.

    Yeah, I change the wording as well. I was just wondering maybe I did something wrong with the code otherwise since that pixel dissapeared. I'll wait a few more days and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

    The image doesnt make any difference, its simply for tracking impressions. Plus whatever line they are on, doesnt matter....if you are missing out sales its not to do with these things, but a CJ system tracking problem. Try e-mails CJ to see whats going on.
