Hi, I own a TV streaming site, and got this email: I have a contact page on my site, and so it may be a hoax. The thing that makes it sound real is the phone number. What do you guys think?
It is BS. The grammar is hideous. No lawyer, even a French lawyer or whatever country that is, would present such a rendition. If you are sporting infringement material on your site then of course it is wise to remove it, but this person is no lawyer.
Then you can see where I was going with that then. Lawyers are sticklers about grammar and punctuation. They have to be. A misplaced comma or misspelled word could cost them a case, so it is imperative. You know how habitual things get, these guys don't deviate form that.
I know that, but I assumed lawyers would be more profession, like the letters displayed on Pirate Bay (header, footers, etc.)
It looks like your long lost last of kin in Kenya has left you some money or something in addition to wanting you to remove some content. Call them first, their grammar is terrible etc.
I agree with you BadBoyzStudioZ. Someone noticed the copyrighted material and is trying to scare you. The important thing is it worked and you removed them. You should be thankful to whoever they are.
Despite what it looks like, it turned out it was real Lucky I removed the content as they asked. Thanks for your help though.
