I would like to make a forum for bloggers. A forum for topics related to blogs and blogging.

I like talking about blogs and like helping others. So Is it worth starting a new forum. I need some suggestions and opinions on this.

My personal opinion is not to do it, since forums are very difficult to get started, but even more so...there are already a lot of blogging forums and webmaster forums in general, that are struggling, and many that have bitten the dust over the last 2 years. (and I mean MANY)

I'm not saying that you should shy away because it's hard, but I really don't see the need in the marketplace with so many resources already in place.

I think your efforts may get better success with a blog about blogging (and there are thousands of those too), or a few ebooks and tutorials.

I don't like telling people not to go for it, but I personally think this would have been a better idea 2 years ago.

There's already tons of blogging forums. No need to compete with them, start something even better :)

forum is a community, and blogging is not considered as a topic anymore.

    Find something more specific,
    dare to start something new...
fail or not, at least you have tried...

    blogging forum, it'll die...
    consider it...

you need some form of trick up your sleeve, maybe videos on youtube of word press blog ideas and similar sort of things. Include templetes for certain posts and advertise everywhere and you may have a chance of getting it popular :)

    You are on one !
This is probably one of the most trafficked forums out there for information, especially for noobs. You can usually get an answer PDQ in a variety of subjects.

Blogs can be very interactive, it's just a matter of how you interact back to your community on the blog. Just like a forum, you can't just wait for people to start posting anything. You need to find ways to create discussion.

Good luck, and if making a blogging forum is what you really want to do, then I say do it. Don't live by statistics, or what others say. Do what YOU want.

A forum is a hell of a lot more work than a blog, but if it is something that you love and have a passion for it makes it easier to get things done, and you have a great desire to make it the best.
There is no success without risk.

When you are starting something it is always good to investigate your target market and see if it is a viable venture, and opinions from others help, but should only fuel what aspects you need to look at....but opinions are just that..everyone's got one and they are going to vary by experience and personal likes and dislikes..they are not fact, or law.

I'm not say that I think starting a forum is the best way to go, that's because I wouldn't do it, but don't let a few opinions steer you away from what you really want to do. If anything they can be a helpful tool to help you avoid any pitfalls.

If I listened to everyone (and it was pretty much everyone) that told me my first blog is a waste of time and would never be anything more than a personal blog, and I wouldn't make any money, I wouldn't have 50 blogs, websites, and landing pages going 2 years later..and I would have to get up everyday and go to a job that I hate and wonder if it would have ever worked.

That's a worse feeling than failing.

But you should look at all your options and determine what is the best way to get you message across and accomplish what you want to accomplish.
There is more than one way to make money online.
