How to get targeted traffic without spending a dime ?

Friends how do i get targeted traffic to my blogs/landing pages for my affiliate products ? I have tried article marketing,promoting my blog, forums, suidoo, social networking, social bookmarking but just don't seem to get thousands of visitors like others claim to get. Am i missing something here ?

How many "targeted" visitors do you get to blog/site and how ?

 

Well, some people have either been doing SEO for years, found the right niche/keywords or are using paid SEO techniques. I'm only doing free techniques myself; pinging, social bookmarking, link exchanges, forums....etc and I really think it just takes time for these things to develop. I only get like 30-50 hits a day without using traffic exchange and I do a lot of advertising, I just think it will pay to be patient.

 

SEO and social bookmarking. You can have success at both without spending money. If you want to compete for high traffic keywords more than likely you will have to spend a little money.

 

Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

 

You seem to missing just one thing in my view , continuety.

1. For getting thousands of traffic you need to be on top (in page 1 atleast) of google for most articles.

2.The more articles you write the more chances you have in google , the more traffic sources you generate.

forums, suidoo, social networking, social bookmarking do not always generate
instant traffic but continuous postings definitely bring back traffic from these sources after 4-5 months.Linking from these sources makes your website more visible to google and solidifies your ranking gradually.

simplyjo, I agree with a lot of these posts....unless you are ready to fork over a lot of cash it takes time to get ranked.

There are some "blackhat" things you can do....but seeing as they are a bit shady I won't go into them here.

The other thing I have found that works really well for short-term (a few days to a week or so) is to use classified site. Craigslist is pretty strict on what they allow and don't allow but I have found USFreeads.com works really well. They have a free memberships as well as paid memberships.

just have quality content and don't think about the site as a money maker, because the people checking it out are looking to feel at home and not over marketed...just my opinion though...

 

You are not missing a thing. You are seeing the reality of those amateur methods.

You cannot bring in thousands of visitors. Not even close.

How long have you been promoting your site? It can take a few months for your traffic to build as other sites pick up your articles and comments. But I would also suggest that it's not the traffic that counts ... it's the conversion rate. I recommend choosing keywords that target ready-to-buy buyers (not lookers)... using those keywords on your site ... using those keywords in your marketing. I have a site that only gets a dozen visitors a day, but 1 out of 6 buy ... so low traffic doesn't matter.

 

This is why sites come and go in the middle of the night. people are promised the moon, and glamour of marketing, and when it does not happen overnight, they quickly move on. if you do not have the time for this, then you will give up fairly quickly, no matter what kind of site you have, or how good you think it is....

 

how about joining stumbleupon community group with special interest. the people there can be targetter traffic

 

I get a couple hundred spread across my websites. I think the biggest thing to help with getting a high rank in SERPs is to get as many backlinks as possible and increase keyword density within your site. Now if you only have a website it is going to be difficult to get alot of people since they are kinda flat. I recommend getting a blog and a forum or chat room to compliment your website. It has done wonders, blogging I think has done the most since I have built up followers. You also need to get on twitter and build up a base of readers there as well. I think the best, free and easiest way to get lot of targeted traffic is via search engines. Try to improve your SERPs via doing some SEO.

 

Plenty of content, directories, social bookmarketing these are all things to look at to begin with.

 

I think if you post regularly to digg you might get atleast 50-100 traffic a day. it worked for me. do it regularly and surely update you blog/site regularly. i think after some time you don'y ve to do anything you ll get traffic automatically.

 

it is true , google can dilivers free traffic to your site ,but it cost you time to do it.
