If an affiliate program says "no search" I realise this must mean that you can link directly to your referall URL from the SE ad.

BUT does this mean that you CAN create a landing page and link to your landing page from the search engine ad?

Why not ask the merchant? Its best to get an answer from them rather than relying on speculation in a forum.

Wow, I was just listening to your podcast right this second :D

Just to elaborate - does that include PPC to landing pages, or does it only ban PPC directly to your affiliate link. If you did do PPC to a landing page and from there the user clicked your affil link, how would the CPA firm know that you were using PPC to push the campaign?

It's just the CPA firm have been a little slow in getting back to me.

Thats where it is fuzzy... if you are sending it to your landing page that has other things then this offer then technically there is nothing they can do.

Here is a thing... many ringtone affiliate networks do not allow you to use "Free Ringtones" in ANY FORM to promote the offer. YET if you have 1 free ringtone on your webpage then you are ok.

Anyway there is never a yes or no on this ... If you are moving leads then you can push a bit ;).

I would worry more about pushing leads.

Cool, thanks for clearing it up.

BTW - comments dont seem to be working on your podcast in your blog

Edit: Regards the "FREE RINGTONES" pushing for ringtone campaigns, I use Azoogle for example and cant find where they state this. Yet I also notice that they dont use FREE in their banners for campaings either, it is all about "No Charge".... interesting

I think this means you can't use their "official URL" as your display URL in google adwords. I'm not sure you'd better ask your affiliate manager.
