    it has to be on your site's <head></head> section. use your favorite html editor if it's plain simple html. or if you use cms (content management system) for your site, then use some plugins can help you greatly.
    any way, you must understand your toy first.

    I would check what your competition is doing. Go to your top competition and click on their website. Then go to view>page source in firefox, or view>source in IE. Then look at the title and see what they did and how it relates to what the search term used.

    I don't know if you mean title tag as in <title> or title as an anchor title as in <a title=

    in any case, both of them are very important. The <title> tag is probably the most important SEO element...

    Keyword rich title tags are best, and long title tags are okay too. I like to use the "|" character to get a long title in. For example:

    Weight Lifting Supplements | Nutritional Supplements for Body Builders
