Reuse articles from article directories

I use to submit articles to 3-4 selective article directories to promote my site. I want to know that can I start a blog using these articles without changing their content.

I have read somewhere that if you get your articles published on different sites and blogs with a linkback to your main site in author section then it helps your site to gain reputation and backlinks.

You don't want to use the exact same articles in your blog...you want everything in your blog to be original content.
Go back and edit your authors box on the articles to point to your blog, but you have to use original contet, or at least rewrite them before you post them up.
Also think of this, if your articles generate clicks to your blog, do you really want people seeing the exact same content that they just read ? Or new information to keep them coming back ?

You can post them on there, but you might want to put it in an archived section or something. You might also want to promote them elsewhere as well (as links to your blog post) so they'll come up higher than the duplicate articles you posted elsewhere in searches.

Depends on the purpose. Newspapers reuse articles every day over and over.

But the amount of additional and original content that they produce everyday keeps them way ahead of any duplicate content penalties and surpasses anything that any one blogger could ever do on their own.

Thanks for advice, but what my scenario is, I have a website for which I post articles in article directories with a linkback in author's bio to my main website.

Now I want to ask weather I can use these articles with same author bio etc. (that links to my main website) to start a blog on blogspot.

..and my answer is no. Don't use the same articles. It's redundant. One will rank the other will be on the back of the bus, why waste the effort when you can just rewrite them, or post original content that will give you twice as much link love.

Just because it's a different platform, doesn't mean it will be perceived as new...it won't. All spiders see 0101, no matter where it is, if it's identical it gets no love.

There are actually 2 trains of thought. I have read many people say that they never get duplicate content penalties and they submit the same articles to a number of directories and rank well, but they are also targeting keywords and phrases without a lot of competition...under 5000 search result pages

Personally I don't see the point of starting up a blog just to get a link or 2 or even 10, when you can just continue your bum marketing efforts with original articles spread around to different sites that have a lot more authority than your new blog will have.

If you have a whole database of articles (like 300) and you are feeding them to a blog with links back, maybe, but then you run into using a blog for SEO purposes only which is pretty easy for Google to sniff out...it's not a new concept, but I don't think there's any penalties for that at all. If you are talking about 10 articles or less, I don't see the point of lessening what rank they have by duplicating them and spreading them thin.

You should build on your efforts, not water it down.

Instead of linking each article back to your blog, why not link some of the smaller or lesser articles to your main ezine article, boosting it's authority, with a link to your blog from there...ezine has more authority than just about all of us, and certainly more than a new blog.

I prefer not to use the same content over and over again, so my answer remains the same. No.
