When you follow Google guidelines then it is called White hat SEO - Ethical WAY If you are not follow Google guidelines then it is called Black hat SEO - Unethical WAY

unethical.. who says it's 'unethical'? We've discussed this a zillion times. 'Black Hat' is stuff google would rather you didn't do, but can't automatically trap yet. So they bluster and threaten and pretend that if you do it, 'bad things will happen' to you because it's "unethical". What happens over time is that as they DO become able to trap this stuff automatically, it stops being 'black hat' and just becomes 'silly'. Like 'doorway pages for example. Or 'cloaking'. Or 'link exchanges'. It's not unethical to publish your own content on your own pages any way you like, as long as you don't break any LAWS. Last time I looked, Google weren't actually in charge of setting LAWS...

i used to do blackhat, it was quick cash but never lasted, google always changed things and you got screwed or domain banned, not worth it unless you don't mind constantly starting over and figuring out new methods
Blackhat SEO = SEO. You're manipulating results for personal gain. Google would rather us not do any kind of SEO, it just wants to put the best websites at the top of search results. SEO normally hinders that.
From talking to SEO experts if you use White Hat SEO you will never compete against the unethical ones. Now certain ones do get banned for tactics but certain rules people break are almost impossible to detect so if you go directly by the rules consider yourself like 10 steps behind the others. It is a rat race. Really it is.
White Hat is the techniques to improve your ranking in search engine ...it will take time but Black Hat techniques contain some illegal ways to improve your site but it could be harmful for your sites...
Yes, i am agree with you. white hat technique take a time but it is good for your site. Don't go with black hat techniques....
Black hat SEO is short term of making money and white hat SEO is long term of making money. With white hat you can earn permanent money and with black hat you can earn easy and fast money but for short time.
They are the same except for black hat techniques you will have to wear black hat when you use them, for white white hat.
