I am looking for offers for hosting. The following is a description of the sites that I will have hosted and what I require for each plan. Thank you. needed plan 1: approximately 150 small adult sites (total storage APPROXIMATELY 5gb), with an additional 10-20 sites per month possible. These have relatively low bandwidth requirements right now; transfer of approx: 20GB/MO average or less. But I prefer room to grow. What I really want in a plan for these sites is: Master Reseller, w CPANEL/FANTASTICO, 50GB OR SO OF STORAGE, prefer unmetered 100mb or faster connection, but obviously consider any reasonable numbers over unrealistic offers. I NEED MY SITES TO BE UP AT ALL TIMES, SO I HAVE TO HAVE A PROVEN PROVIDER. Price is always a concern, but not necessarily my main one. All content is fully legal and compliant with 2257 rules. needed plan 2: I have about 4000 domains and I buy and sell about 500-1000 domains in an average month. I need a good hosting package that will allow me to put up small sites for each one (total of 10gb or less storage required total), with minimal bandwidth requirements and very little cpu overhead. I do prefer unmetered bandwidth if available, but these sites generally won't and never have required this. Plan 3: I have about 80 sites that get more traffic and/or have larger amounts of material. This plan will run A LOT of php/mysql scripts and I want a server that has the room for me to be able to keep my sites up. None of these are super large sites or have a huge amount of traffic, but they are growing and I want the ability to expand built into my plan from the beginning. Okay, so here is what I am looking for: at least 50gb of storage, 100gb of monthly transfer (or unmetered 100/1000), WHMS, CPANEL, FANTASTICO. On servers that are NOT oversold, with a company that WILL be around for some time to come. Plan 4: This option is if you can give me a single plan that will work for EVERYTHING above AND have room to grow. Right now, out of close to 5000 sites, I own all but 36, so I'm not a major player in the hosting business, lol, but I do intend to have a few more of this type customer, as I've been selling more turnkey sites lately. I wouldn't recommend going for unmetered or unlimited plans if your sites are important - why? because if you use too much "resources" (they will rarely tell you it's bandwidth or space) they will suspend your account and you'll regret it - also most hosts that offer master resellers don't last long, you'll find one here and there that survived but most just go out of business after they make their short term profit so don't fall for that. good luck finding something though.
njoker: I agree that many unlimited plans are no good and I'm certainly not looking for any "unbelievable" deals. But, there are many servers that have unlimited bandwidth these days and I believe that this is actually possible, but reliability of host is of paramount importance for me. I can get a server from the the Planet (actually I have one that I've had since they were called rackshack, even before they became ev1 and then the planet, but I don't have the time or know how to manage it, so I use it primarily for backups... it seems like I'm constantly having some issue with it) for less than what I'm willing to pay for someone to take care of the headaches for me. iBoot, my budget is somewhat maleable. I'm looking for offers, preferably from companies with a track record, but I can afford more than I really want to spend, if you understand what I'm saying. Basically, I have 28 hosting accounts, reseller accounts, vps accounts and a dedicated server right now... total cost: about 420/mo; obviously, I would like to reduce these costs somewhat, but reliability and support are my major concerns. servers with unlimited bandwidth just come with a high limit - if you have a dedicated 100mbps line, you'll only get about 33tb of monthly bandwidth there is always a limit, even on a 100gbps connection if you can find one. The limits are just very high.
lol, for me 33tb is pretty much unlimited, though perhaps not strictly so. Perhaps we should consider my request to be listed as "unmetered." In any case, I don't require anything approaching these levels in the foreseeable future, although I would love to get that many visitors to my sites. My approach to sites is to keep the overhead low and the size low. Most of my sites are measured in kbs. No plan HAS to have unmetered bandwidth of course for me to consider it, but if it comes from a reputable provider, it would be a plus.
if you keep price and requirements proportionate, You'll most likely get reliable service. no one site would use up 33tb of bandwidth - usually when people colocate and they sell servers from their rented racks, they take a 100gbps unmetered port where they get about 33tb bw and they spread it out to each sold server. And i think we would all like to see our sites get popular enough to use bandwidth to that level But if you do go with any unmetered or unlimited plans, make sure you read the terms of service to avoid any future disappointment. Many people dont' do it and they regret it later on. That's why hostgator has a lot of negative reviews out these days, people didn't read their ToS on "unlimited" before signing up. Good luck
The best reseller service that I know is from dayanahost.com, hostupon.com and iwhic.com. The priorities of these companies are support, reliability and high uptime. As for prices I don't think that they are high.
There are nice deals offered by MMhosting. The company has good reputation monitored uptime stats, and really quality and affordable offers for reselling which might suit your needs well.
