What are your favorite backlink building methods.

 

I prefer combination of One-way link building techniques to get various type of backlinks pointing back to your website.
It exists different aspects and strategies of effective link building services that you must recognise by heart. Once you recognize them, you will be able to avail link building services by diverse webmasters to promote your website and Online business.
Manual articles submission, Squido lenses, Blog reviews, Manual directories submission,...

 

You mentioned manual... is there a difference between slow auto-submission?

Best thing to do is get one-way links from high PR site and for that kind of one-way links i like to submit my site in Social Networking site. From there I got good traffic also.

 

Linkbait. It's a lot of fun to write something controversial or downright silly and see it spread all over the web

 

I'll go for blogs They are very helpful in boosting search engine ranking. Hubpages and lenses also weigh a lot especially for sub-pages of your site.

Squidoo are now nofollow links...what the point of using them? Are there any other page creators like squidoo that give dofollow?

 

Posting comments, guest posting on other blogs, and of course posting on forums with similar niche.

 

Squidoo aren't nofollow links unless you haven't even bothered to add any content at all. Take a look at these Eternal Eden & Game Name lenses for example, their links are still followed.

 

I believe I heard old Squidoo lenses are still followed, but new ones are now nofollow.

 

Squidoo lenses still have great effect on SERP, any SEO Expert can confirm you that!

 

autoblogging. Throw a few free blogs up their (blogger and wordpress MU hosts) and you can start to generate tens of thousands of backlinks to your 'real' sites on autopilot.

 

I use a variety of techniques -
Blog commenting - ideally from pages with some PR and related to the topic of the target page. I always take time to leave a constructive comment;
Article distribution and spinning - I use Article Marketing Automation for this;
Blogging - Both in my own network of blogs and guesting in others;
Directory submissions - still good for co-citation and getting a site recognised in a particular category;
Linkbaiting - Informative 'power' pages that are basically authoritative wiki style info-pages have been good for me. But also mad, strange or controversial blog posts have attracted significant attention in the past;
Social networking - bigging up my power pages or blog posts is always a good thing to do....

blog comments is my favoritae method. Lot of people will only comment on pages with some PR.
But actually it is a wrong strategy, you should comment on do follow blogs. you never know in the next PR update, these pages can also get some PR.

Even you can promote those pages with some social bookmarking to make sure those pages get some backlinks..
