$200 FUN Website 2.0 Design Contest! Paypal Paid Instantly To Winner

Hey DP we're back at it again! This time I have a website that needs to be built around the logo I'm attaching. That guy's name is "Jack" and we need to build a front page for his new website - BadBeatJack.com!

"Bad Beat" is a term in poker when a player who should win, gets unlucky and loses. Having your pocket Aces beat by pocket Kings is a "bad beat". We will be building our website around this theme and have both Twitter and user submitted stories heavily involved.

There is also a promotion called a "bad beat jackpot" where players can win a progressive jackpot when the once in a life time unlucky hand happens, players win up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. These "jackpots" we'll be advertising on the site with RSS feeds to display the current progressive amount embedded into some custom graphics designed by the awesome group of designers at DP

Here are my site objectives:

1. 3 columns.

2. An introduction to "Jack" in the main body, with a "tell Jack your bad beat story" theme to it. We'll need room for 4-600 words of text here.

3. Left nav - site links and anchor to our pages detailing the bad beat jackpots, a menu similar to the one found on www.smartrakeback.com would be perfect! (left side).

4. Right Nav - ads for 5 poker sites "bad beat jackpot" www.smartrakeback.com would again be an example of a site doing this on right nav.

Below our "intrduction area" to meeting the character Jack - we'd like to incorporate a blog/news update area, as well as some sort of user submission area for submitting visitors bad beat stories and participating in monthly "best bad beat" contests.

I'd love to see follow us on twitter and facebook incorporated into a theme, and am open to having a video area as well.

I realize this might be confusing, but run free and be creative! I post detailed feeback and the we'll get there together.

Can you provide us with a PNG of the logo without the blue background? Either that, or the PSD. Would make things a lot easier for us designer.

Hi, how would I provide the PSD? I'm a bit concerned with just posting that since it's an expensive piece of artwork and I'd rather not find it on other websites later.

If I need to I will, but do you think you could just use cruder elements to get across anything you want to do and I'll supply the PSD to winner for final delivery?

Please let me know, I don't know a lot about design aspects so I rely pretty heavily on the collective creativity of the awesome artists on DP.

Who will have the first entry? I hope to see one yet today but I understand quality takes time.

 

If you open the PSD, remove the background layer then shrink it to say 500x500 pixels then File >> Save For Web and select PNG-24 you can save without the background.

 

Davey perhaps you could do that for me? PM for the PSD as I know your a long time trusted member here.

Will we see any entries soon folks? I'd be really happy to have this be a fast contest as we are already behind schedule.
