he sent you that, cause you posted something and he thought you might be interested. That is stupid (because his forum is new and no one would be interested in posting in a new forum), but that's not something one should banned for

If he sent you some affiliate viagra links with porn casino and sh0rt d1ck that would be spam already...

Is worth an infraction, at least.

Yeah, I get pm's like that all the time.
And I do not mind, as usually it is a good deal for me.

Sometimes, I use pm instead of posting so that the person I pm'ed will know what I want, what he did wrong, etc.
Lot easier to pm if the poster screwed up than to post publicly that he screwed up.

Same and totally agree. I hate getting PMs like that...it's total BS IMO. It's really a waste of time to me and is totally spam as it is unsolicited junk mail sent to your PM inbox.

    Nahh mean?

There does seem to be a lot of PM spam about at the moment. I also get a lot of people spamming services via MSN

There's a fuzzy line between spam and just getting pitched because of what you posted. We can't give infractions on PMs, that would require us being able to read them, which we can't and won't.

Just tell him you're not interested.

I normally do, some guys are actually pretty aggressive in their sales though. One guy contacted me by MSN for 10 days running after I requested his prices for forum posting. I would have gone ahead if he hadn't kept hassling me but his constant questions as to why I hadn't gone ahead yet really put me off.

    Reply with this then:

    Or ignore it.

If they keep PMing against your will, report them again.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaing about DP or the moderation of spam. Running forums myself I know it's not an easy job. I was making more of a point that some people need to refine their sales techniques. I'd never buy from a spammer even if I wanted the product.

So if I decide to PM about 200 members that I feel are "interested" in what i have to offer that's ok?

Where is the line between spam and simple solicitation?

I know that if I went and posted 10 topics to check out my site in relevant topics that I would be banned pretty fast here. Yet 10 PM's personally annoying a member is Ok?

My regard for this site is getting lower and lower.
