Google updating: negative for me.

Discussion in 'SEO' started by vnviews, Jul 8, 2006.

Before google PR updating, my site has few referrals from google every day. From begin of July there isn't any single one. I can't see any positive change for my site (same PR0, same 0 backlinks and total loss of traffic from Google) .
Does anyone notice the same? Hope that updating is still in progress, or I will give up.
    Thanks.
    Tuan.

There is no update in progress despite what some other thread titles consist of.

Well, my site is new, in last June it had around 100 pageviews per day, about 50 referrals from Google. I was expected some improvement after google updating, but result seems to be negative :(.

Other than your pr changing from 0 to 3-4, is there another way to find out if the google has updated, like do they give some sort of press release or something for publishers?

unviews: I knew why. It is not related to your PR or google updating. Here is a list of the cached pages of your site:
    http://www.google.com/search?source...006-21,GGLJ:en&q=site:http://www.vnviews.com/
Now, click any result. The page can not be found.

You have changed the structure of your site and given your pages new URLs. Thus, google wants to send you visitors but they don't find you welcoming :)

A quick solution is to create a 404 Error page where you welcome visitors, apologize for what you have done and give them a link to the main page.

    Your pages went supplemental?
Maybe due to duplicated content penalty?

    No, not penalty.
Those are old pages that I changed URLs. Before google updating they aren't shown in SERP. Now they are shown above the valid pages, home page is shown at some 2X page when searching for domain name. :(
You are right, I changed the URLs structure (because of SEO tips). Yes, I made 404 error page with apologize sentence.
    Thanks, guys.

No BL or PR updates so far.

Those are results which google offer at the end of regular results with :

In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 178 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.

If I search site:www.vnviews.com, many times (not always) I see the old pages as supplemental in first 1x pages, then I can find the regular pages (including home page!).
It happens after Google tried last update.
I guess some problem with Google and hope that they will fix it soon.
    Does anyone have same problem?
