What do you guys think about buying text links? Will it works? I saw website rank number 1 on Google has less backlinks than site in number 2, 3, 4 and 5. Does this proof that more links = higher ranking?

Hmm, so that means no one can tell when you already have enough backlinks.. you stop and you end up with nothing.. right?

Not exactly, you stop and you might maintain your rankings for a while until someone builds more links than you and might outrank your URL.
Once you are in the top 3 you'll only need to maintain which is a lot easier than ranking.

Very good article. I already do a similar thing but it is great of you to share this as I'm sure it will be a great help. Although once you're at number 1 it's not necessarily time to put your feet up and rest from backlink building as you always want to keep ahead of the competition and make sure you can maintain your no. 1 position. You can also possibly gain more traffic from other keywords where you can climb in rankings from building more backlinks and PR.

Nice article but I am not sure how accurate that tool is as it shows no Yahoo backling for some sites I checked. Also Google does not show all backlinks.

NEVER. If you are in a competitive niche reaching number one on a keyword is momentary. Your competitors will surpass you if you let down your guard. If you are not in a competitive someone is right now looking to dominate a less competitive niche and your competitors will surpass you if you let down your guard. You may think you have enough links but this isn't a sprint race, it is a marathon race and you don't have a finish line. If you think you do, you are mistaken. Anyone who says any differant is wrong. Getting on page one is one thing, staying there is another thing. Good luck! Don't every stop looking over your shoulder as they are gaining on you. Sound paranoid? Think again!

I understand that the more links you have out on the internet the more chances somebody has to click on them, but I don't understand why google would give so much weight to them for page results. I mean, doesn't it seem like it can be spammed pretty easy? Is content still the number one ranking factor?

Never stop building backlinks or the competition will catch up.

You must always keep building quality content and links to your site.:D

Hi Web7, I like your answer! Brilliant. Even if you're Top 1, doesn't mean you can rest, relax, stop link building.

you can NEVER say that you have enough links.

About buying text links. To make a difference.. you need more than 1 links :) .. you need HUNDREDS, and from high PR, relevant sites. Those are pretty expensive. This means.. a s**t load of money spent. I am not mention the risk of being penalized by google, cause selling / buying links is not quite legal :)

Very nice article. You should find ways of generating such good content that others provide you one way links and make sure these aren't from adult sites.
