CPALead WordPress Plugin - Apply CPALead to Only Specific Pages or Posts

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by SeanBlue, Nov 26, 2008.

I dropped this link in a couple of threads but then noticed quite a few CPALead threads in this section of the forums, so I figured I'd be best to create a new thread for this.

To anyone looking for a way to use CPALead with only specific WordPress posts and pages: I've just created a plugin that does exactly this. You can download the <a href="http://www.seanbluestone.com/cpalead-wordpress-plugin">CPALead WordPress Plugin</a> here.

The only thing I should mention is that if you create a Post then it will be linked from your main page and the content will be visible from there, and from your Category page (i.e. anywhere that shows the content that isn't the post itself). You can get around this in part by including &#60;!--more--&#62; before the content you're trying to protect in the post. For example if you offer a link to a product or file and you want it protected, put the link after the &#60;!--more--&#62; tag.

    Hope this helps.

Sean: please clarify how to use the plugin

I paste either the premium content tool or the ASD into the <head></head> wp template.
Activate your plugin and fill in the link for the page I want the gateway to appear? When I do this, my entire site is blocked by the gateway.

I want to use only certain existing posts and not the entire site. CPALead should really modify their codes to be more user-friendly.

Can you do an idiot-proof step by step on how to use your plugin with reference to the cpalead codes.

    thx

I'm kinda late in replying to the post above but I figured better late than never, right?

To use the plugin you don't need to paste into WordPress or edit your themes. You just:

    1. Activate the plugin and enter your CPALead ID.
    2. Enter the name of any page or post, select page or post, and hit enter.

    That's it!

P.S. The link in my original post didn't work so you can download CPALead WordPress Plugin here. Or download directly from WordPress.org here.

I agree with emigre. You should clarify HOW to use the plugin. The "activate, put your cpalead id, enter post name and wallaa" instructions won't help noobs like us. And unfortunately noobs are the ones who'll be using your plugin.

You should give some instructions like... put your cpalead code on your header tag, and then activate the plugin, the plugin will recognize the posts you would want to put cpalead gateway on........ OR something like put <? cpalead() ?> on page.php of your wordpress theme..........

...something like that, because we don't know how to go about after activating the plugin, enter our cpalead id, and create post/page.

yakusokutebayo: don't bother with this anymore. CPALead is developing their own plugin so look out for theirs instead.
