So I been backlinking and blogging and linking and social bookmarking and adding fresh material, and SEO redoing for my website.

I went from nose bleed seets to the top of page two on one of my keywords for my set.

    NOW WHAT?

I have no adsense, no advertisements, no banners. Nothing to monetize this bad boy. How do i cash in now?

Yes it's a legal website. Yes I'm competing against tons of lawyers. No it's a local market website only. [ although the information is universal ]

    p.s.
I just saw twilight tonight for the first time. I mean really what vampire just sits there and lets some human know he's a vampire?

Maybe you can offer some affiliate products or create your own product yourself and sell it on your site?

I don't think offering affiliate products and ebooks on a legal website is the way to go. My target are lawyers, I think. I don't know. Would that be professional?

I often see clickbanks sites and I just recoil in horror. they are so tacky. [maybe I'm dumb, do they work, are people not offended?]

aaaa so you dont whant to put adsense on the site ? if you do just put some :p ... also you can like try to write an ebook on the topic and sell that .... or something like that. ... but i still think adsense of comision junction wold work great, and to keep it more profesional you can try creating an adsense image only ad. If you want you can PM me the link I will look over it and give you some pointers.

If your site is on law, you should really consider Google Adsense since they pay loads for niches that has to do with lawyers.

I see. If your target audience are lawyers like yourself then really the best way to monetize your site is by adsense or develop an ebook that caters to lawyers. Problems that lawyers always has to deal everyday.

Offering affiliate products is not always the kind clickbank is offering. I mean, in the day to day operations of lawyer's offices certainly there are products or services that they use. For example, software. Law offices uses software everyday. It might be specialized software for lawyers. What if you found a software that is better than what they are using now? And that software company offers a hefty affiliate commission once your referral bought the product from your website? I hope you get my point.

Go to www.clickbank.com and choose a product to promote, create banner advertising space or create your own product. You NEED to build a list regardless!

i would go the adsense route...or contact some law firms and see if they want to buy the site for themselves since it ranks well ;)

Now i'm PR 1 on two heavily trafficed keywords.

    I guess I could do adsense. I don't think that's bad.

On another thread a person wanted to sell advertisement space on their site. Someone replied "just build it, they will come"

Did he mean that if you are page one, lawyers might contact me through my contact page and ask to buy advertisement space?

Why don't you try and target your site towards the local market ? Like offering free consultation and just trying to get clients from your site.

If you're a lawyer, you should be using your website to compliment your marketing, not to lead it.

here is another idea....why not contact businesses related to the niche and see if they want to "rent" your site each month....you could put up contact info to their business (make your site look like it is actually their own), or link your site back to theirs if they already have a site.;)

I am in the same position you are for the mortgage niche in my area and trying to figure out what the next step is. I, too, have not monetized my site at all and trying to weight all my options. So please let me know what you'll end up with.

As for me, I am looking into placing ad senses and/or CPA ads on my site (still don't know much about them, so learning). I think the comment about creating a product is something to look into , too. You only have to do it once and you can keep selling the same product over and over again. And the nice thing is it's all digital which means no production cost. I am not that creative, so I am having a hard time coming up with something in my niche. For me I was a mortgage broker for over 10 years and how about you? are you a lawyer?

I agree. Also, set up an opt-in page for people to receive a newsletter from you. You should then monetize the newsletter as well.

Uh yeeesh. hehe, yall got me sweating. A newsletter? I do a blog where I talk about the latest and greatest DUI cases. I do offer my opinion on how the person can get out of it, or how the police lie about DUI all the time, or how the courts are crooked.

You mean something like that? Hmmm monetize that? You mean like offer a clickbank, do it yourself get out of DUI ebook? i think I've seen those. I would have to make sure I had the person sign up as a civilian or lawyer, so I know.

I have a page on my site already setup to "hire" a lawyer. It's full except for the "lawyers" part ROFL.

I was hoping lawyers would pay to put their names there. And I could add adsense on that page [ which I hope would also end up being "want to hire a lawyer click here" type adsense ]

I even thought about creating a total referal form whereby if the person wanted to contact a lawyer, they would

    1. click the law firms name [NO I'M NOT A LAWYER BY THE WAY]
    2. my site would have an internal forms page
    3. they fill out the form, with name, case facts, contact info
    4. my form would automatically be sent to that law firm with the info
    5. I get a referal fee
    6. I track how many referals I made and maintain the contact info

that was just a thought. it sounds like a lot of work, versus the person just clicking a link and my link tracking who i referred to the firm.

either way I have no clue how to do either of those.

    Adsense seems easy LOL.:D:D:D

By far the most profitable would be to create some type of lead opt-in. Then sell the leads to lawyers at big bucks. BIG bucks.

This would require a little more work than the simple clickbank / adsense route, but you could easily make it a 6figure business. Especially if its a good site and gets lots of traffic.

Or you could put adsense up and make 20 bucks a day, if that. Your choice. I know what mine would be =)

for the long tail keywords i've built the site around, the cpc is like $28.00. Is that good enough or did you have something much more... expansive in mind?

    Hi,

I think some AdSense for sure in some colors to match the look and feel of the site so they don't look like cheap ads.

Test and see what the CTR is.

I agree some type of optin is GOLD.

You want to get that baby over the hump to page one!:)

You need a few more high PR sites linking to you and consider a video
