Now i was wondering, because webmaster live has a handy page score feature to its back links. Anyway is there a site or tool i can use to find out the quality of my links with google and yahoo? Apart from the obvious (do a search and see where they come on it)
you have few option either make urself a good tool or use another website. collect and rebuild in new form
What you want is linkjuice from the link. If you can afford it you can check the linkjuice with the tool Linkscape from Seomoz. You must have the paid version allthough.
yeah thought about it but heard there is some good free tools you can use just wondered if people had any links
Great tools. Has anyone tried both linkscape and SEO Spyglass? It looks like a tough decision. I like the basic analysis tool at the linkscape site. What is the right way to link a domain - mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com or either with a / on the end? Thanks
Really, the only way to tell the quality of your backlinks is to wait a while after getting the links and see how your SERPs improves. There are many factors that can affect your performance but good links is probably the most important. When linking a domain, whether you have a trailing / or not on the URL doesn't really matter. If things like this really mattered to engines like Google, the internet would be an extremely fickle place.
I look at the anchor text used, PR of page, PR of websites homepage. This should give you a good idea of how much juice it is passing.
I just hoped they'd be a short cut way to find out, regularly check SERP's but wondered if there was an easier way.
Sounds just as much hard work as checking SERP's to be honest but guessing the theme is no short cuts
Checkout Linkvoodoo SEO Tools. There is a backlink analysis tool for checking tons of backlink information and there is also a tool for checking the quality of a backlink; the tool can be found here --> http://www.linkvoodoo.com/score_site.php
When considering submitting of my site to directories there are several problems. The first one is some of them want us to pay for a listing they will not guarantee they will list so even if it were worth is to pay you could waist you money. Besides that even if they promised to list my site if I payed there is no way to tell if it is worth it. Then there all those directories that want reciprocal. Even if I was not afraid that might make my site look bad you just can't have a bunch of links back to you site. Is it ever OK to give a link back. I considered making a recourses page for links back to directories but am not sure. You thoughts are welcome Right now I am using http://www.easysubmits.com/index.php. It is easy to use and no reciprocal links are required but I am not sure if the page rank of the sites we submit to are high and I am skeptical of even a semi automated site like this. To there created they have one of those code generators for each listing, catigor8ies and other fields directories want you to fill out and it is free. I have submitted to some of there directories and received emails wanting a conformation to it might be a legitimate site.
I use http://seopro.com.au/free-seo-tools/link-checker to check my backlinks quality. I happy with the result but take time to run it's especially if you have huge backlinks
I often use my own judgment by looking at the PR and relevancy of the link, but I sometimes use Linkdiagnosis.com. It's a good tool.
