Well this forums was a xbox hackers forums that died. I had some members posting Halo hacks and they needed to sign up to get them. I ain't an xbox owner...never have been. Forums eventually died without my care.

    http://www.xbox-forums.com/webstat

    URL is pretty good

PageRank is 4 on the home page and has been for a long time.

I am asking $250 for this as a buy it now but will consider offers over $150 as well. I have not posted this yet on other forums but plan to if interest here isn't very good.

Thank you and feel free to ask any questions.

Don't tell them anything. If enough people get ripped off on Sitepoint maybe they'll rethink their policies.

Apparently the ones that don't exist anymore. So people are allowed "within reason" to comment on sales threads now? Because in the not so distant past you could only comment if you were bidding...

Not exactly. Seller removed within minutes my short comment "could you please justify the price hike?" with a link to this thread :)

There's nothing wrong with buying a site, doing a ton of work then reselling it...

Tell me, how am I ripping people off here?

I've made modifications to the site, moved everything over to vBulletin, changed the skin and made it look like a forum that people would actually want to post in, and not to mention I've also brought back the activity. I'm selling it at a reserve of $1,500 and at a BIN of $2,500 because that's what I feel it's worth. And plus, the majority of members that are returning and becoming active are not paid posters.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, before it was a dead phpBB forum with an ugly skin, and now it's a nicely designed vBulletin powered forum. Seriously, I've seen forums sell for large amounts for the simple fact that they were using vBulletin and/or a good looking vBulletin design.

That shouldn't matter though, I bought the site, it's mine now, I've improved it and made it better, I'm selling it for what I think it's worth. I've asked a few people, they think my price is reasonable, why not?

Isn't that a part of business? Buying things, improving them, and then selling them for profit?

I'm not sure why you guys are so fussed about this. I'm sure many of you have bought sites, spended some time on them, then sold them for more in a few days or maybe even weeks (simply because you have no time, or for whatever reason) and made a good profit. How is that any different to what I'm doing here?

This is not a pump and dump. Majority of members posting at current are not paid. Actually, only 2 members have been paid to post at the moment. Offer is closed so as to make it look like NOT all posts are being made by paid posters.

Guys, I bought this site, it's mine now, I believe I am well within my rights to sell it for a price I think is reasonable for both me and the buyer.

Ok.. this is what Peter said on another forum:

Look Peter, I really have only paid 1 member to post. Another member has made 40 posts and just cashed in yesterday, I paid him too.

I mentioned this in my thread, 1 person was paid to post. I am telling the truth and I can prove it.

The ONLY reason I had to get to paid posting was because people WERE coming back, but weren't actually posting because there was nothing to respond except old, old posts. Now that I've managed to pay atleast 2 people to post (another, and the last paid poster, just cashed in on 40 posts yesterday), people are actually responding to threads now and the activity is coming back.

I don't see how I'm cheating here. I saw that natural members were looking around and browsing the forum, I gave them a reason to start participating by getting some other people to post, they are now posting as a result, and I just don't see anything wrong with that.

    - I believe my response to his claim should clear a few things up. :)

    There's nothing wrong with trying.

I believe the amount at which I am selling it is reasonable and so do a few people I've asked.

Hey, atleast I'm defending myself and trying to clear things up. Better than just leaving things unanswered and looking like a mess, right? :) No offense or anything.
