How to Target a Keyword in Google Search

    Heylo guys,

    I need some Help related to "How to Target a Keyword in Google Search".

    I have a blog "adityavyas.com".

    I wanted to target "Aditya" which is my 1st name currently i am positiond at 17 in google search.

    Can anyone tell me how can a achieve my higher rank with this keyword please. :confused:

    I want to learn how to target keywords. thanks in advance...

    Search engine rankings mostly come down to backlinks. So you'll need more backlinks with 'aditya' in the link anchor text.

    Make sure your on page optimization is done ie your title tags, your H1 and H2 tags are there, make sure you've got the keyword peppered throughout the text ect.

    Once on page is done, as vansterdam said, it basically comes down to backlinks with your anchor text. submit to directories, submit articles ect.

    Instead of www adityavyas com in your signature use your surname as anchor.

    thats the first thing i thought of. Contextual linking including the keyword will help you gain the most out of your backlink. Try to switch up your contextual text so that the links look more genuin to the search engines.

    Start comments in "101 Best Do-follow Blogs" with 'aditya' as a anchor text for the link.

    in the blog add aditya in title description and the content.. make quality back link for your site from forum or any other source with anchor text aditya

    vansterdam hit the nail on the head. You need more backlinks with "aditya" in the link text... I would vary your link text so that sometimes you link with exactly "aditya", other times you link with text containing the name like "aditya vyas" and "aditya vyas" blog".

    Also you could change some of your on-page SEO...

    For example, currently your <h1> is just your logo image pointing to your home page (i.e. <h1><img alt="aditya vyas"...</h1>). At least you have an alt="Aditya Vyas attribute on the <img> element which is considered by Google to be the link text for image links. However, alt attribute link text imbedded within an <h1> doesn't carry the same kind of weight as a plain <h1>Aditya Vyas</h1> would carry.

    I would consider removing the open and close <h1> and </h1> tags from around the logo image, and creating a real <h1> at the top of the home page like <h1>Aditya Vyas' Tech Blog</h1>...

    If you think somehow having your <h1> element be a link adds to the effect of the links anchor text then <h1><a href="http://www.adityavyas.com/">Aditya Vyas' Tech Blog</a></h1> would be preferable to using an image w/ alt attribute inside of the <h1> element.
